    Q
Is BorActin Insecticide Powder safe in kitchen cabinets?
    A
The manufacturer does not recommend adding the product directly to the kitchen cabinets. Instead: Apply Boractin under and behind cabinets. When treating cabinetry areas, if there is no gap between the lower cabinets and the kickplate, then small holes can be drilled to access the voids. Escutcheon plates around pipes can also be pulled back to allow access to voids.

    Q
Will the blue dye in BorActin Insecticide Powder stain my carpets?
    A

BorActin Insecticide Powder contains a blue dye for safety. Per the product label, BorActin should only be applied in cracks and crevices, and any excess dust should be wiped up. We would not advise to use this dust around light colored fabrics that may be affected by the dye. We also recommend applying dust with a hand duster to avoid contamination or over-dusting.

    Q
What is the mixing ratio powder to water for BorActin Insecticide Powder?
Do you mix with water? I have a backpack sprayer and looking for a good product for spraying homes
    A

BorAction Insecticide Powder is not mixed with water.  It is a powder insecticide that is applied to cracks and crevices only.  If you are looking for an insecticide to spray as a barrier around the home, Cy-Kick CS would something you can use. We also carry EcoVia WD, a natural wettable dust insecticide that can be applied either as a dry dust or mixed with water and applied as a spray.

  • Asked by Meta from Deer Park, Ny

    Q
Can BorActin Insecticide Powder be used outdoors?
    A
BorActin Insecticide Powder is not for use outdoors as it would get washed away with the first rain or dew or blown away by the wind. It is used indoors in cracks and crevices where the harsh outdoor environment cannot affect it, but will stay in place to catch any insects that crawl through it. If you are looking for a dust you can use outdoors, you could try something like Diatomaceous Earth which comes in many forms by many different manufacturers. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Tina from Dutton

    Q
Can BorActin Insecticide Powder be used in poultry houses while chickens are in the houses?
    A

Per the product label on BorActin Insecticide Powder you would need to remove the birds from the area before any treatment can take place. Once they are removed you would apply the product at a rate of 1-2 lbs per 100 sq. ft over the the soil surface or over the old litter. Before re-introducing birds, apply fresh litter at least 4 inches deep to all floor areas. Powder should also be applied to wall voids, framing, and insulation of the house. Do not apply directly to manure piles or pits. For ongoing control, re-apply each time the house is cleaned or after each grow-out period,

    Q
How do I safely CLEAN UP and REMOVE Boractin that was improperly applied?
A pest control person improperly applied Boractin by sprinkling it in pet- and children-accessible areas -- including my bathroom floor, closet floors, inside my kitchen cabinets (not in wall voids), and on my window sills. How can I properly REMOVE this product? He says it is deactivated with water but I can find no evidence of this.
    A

BorActin Insecticide Powder can be swept up from hard surfaces or removed with a damp cloth.  It is not deactivated when mixed with water as it can be used in a mop solution and would be effective again once dry.
