Answer:

Pre-emergents can be applied around the same time as post emergents such as Monterey Turflon Ester Herbicide.  

You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.  Summer is not usually a time to apply.  Spring and fall are most common.
