Near the foundation to the house, I will have plain dirt with sand mixed together for about 6 inches and underneath that is all clay dirt -- can i put the granules 6 inches below the dirt with sand and then on top of the dirt for extra protection?
Bio Advanced Termite Killer Granules is instructed to be applied ontop of bare soil, mulched areas, landscape beds, lawns at the rate of 1 cup of granules every 5-10 linear feet within 6 inches of the foundation.
If removing some of the dirt/sand back to access the harder clay soil, be sure to not exceed more than the recommended rate of 1 cup per 5-10 linear feet in a 6 inch wide ban. Water the granules in thoroughly but not to the point of runoff or puddling.
Do not disrupt treated soil. If soil is disrupted following the application, reapplication should be made as a spot treatment to those areas where the original treatment has been disrupted. Make a band of 6 inches wide in the disturbed area.
According to the manufacturer, Bayer Advanced Termite Killer Granules will remain active and effective for 6 months after initial application. They need to be watered in but not the point of runoff.
