Lou from Southern Il writes

Can Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer be applied to a recently (2 months) seeded and strawed tall fescue lawn?

Tall fescue planted and not thriving in many areas of the 1 acre lot

Answer:

Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer should only be applied to fully established turf grass, and used as directed on the manufacturer's product label. Generally, a lawn is considered to be fully established after it has been mowed at least three times.  If you have not had a soil analysis done on the lawn, we would recommended doing one to determine what nutrients your lawn has or may need. This can help with establishing new turfgrass and overall lawn health. Please view our Soil Test Kits or contact your County Extension Office for assistance with a soil analysis.
