Unfortunately, Monterey Turflon Ester Herbicide is not recommended to be applied using a hose end sprayer and per the product label should be applied with a handpump sprayer. Hose end sprayers do not provide an accurate volume of water per the recommended rates per gallon of water.  If the weight of the sprayer is preventing you from using a 1 gallon hand pump sprayer, you can divide the mix rate of 4 tsp per gallon of water in half and use 2 tsp per ½ gallon of water.
