Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder can be applied to established asparagus as a single application. Per the product label, apply to asparagus after ferns are removed, but before spear emergence. Mix 3 fl oz in 2 gallons of water and apply to 1,000 square feet. The application does need to be followed up with 1/2 inch of rainfall or irrigation within 24 hrs for best results.
In general, pre emergents should be applied in early spring when soil temps are just under 55 degrees however this can vary depending on where you're located and the specific weeds you are targeting. We would recommend contacting your Master Gardener for exact timing recommendations for your area.
