We have a 2910 sq ft playground area in our subdivision. We have mulch and want to add 5 more inches of mulch. We want to spray weed killer between the old and new layers of mulch. Can we do this safely in the children's play area?
Ranger Pro Herbicide can be used to kill actively growing weeds in mulch beds for playgrounds when applied per the product label instructions. Keep children and pets out of the area until the application has completely dried. Keep in mind, this product will only kill weeds that are actively growing and does not prevent weeds from germinating. Applying a pre emergent such as Rezilon Pre Emergent Herbicide in late fall and then again in early spring would be effective to help prevent weeds from germinating and reducing overall weed growth.
