Can Sedgehammer damage nearby trees?

I have a three year old Chinese Pistache tree whose leaves have begun to brown after I applied Sedgehammer as per directions to nutsedge in the yard about 25' away. Is this a result of the Sedgehammer?

Answer:

Per the label of Sedgehammer Herbicide, this product should not be applied over the top of desirable vegetation. We would not recommend using this product within the drip zone of a tree.
