Can Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide damage ground ivy if it is applied a little too heavily?

I have a bunch of ground ivy that I use Snapshot on now for several years, primarily to keep Japanese stilt weed away. It does the job well. This year, for the first time, the ground ivy is struggling to recover from the winter in VA and the deer munching. I was wondering if I maybe put a little too much Snapshot on this past March. Also, what is the recommended frequency of application?

Answer:

Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs. can be used twice a year with the max rate of 600 pounds per acre per year. Any time you over apply a product there is always a chance that you might cause some damage. Also make sure granules are going closer to the ground and not on the leaves of the plant.  Refer to the Broadcast Rate Chart on page 2 of the product label for the low, medium and high applications per 1000 sq ft and per 100 sq ft.
