Can Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St Augustine Grass be used to treat poa annual (annual bluegrass) in late summer on centipede lawns?

Answer:

Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St Augustine Grass is labeled to treat poa annua (annual bluegrass) in Centipede grass and can be applied during both dormant and growing seasons. Best results are achieved when applied in early spring or dormant periods when weeds are samll and not yet emerged. For annual bluegrass, do not apply when rainfall or irrigation is expected within 2 to 3 days of the application. For control of weeds at seed stage, you will need to water the application within 7 to 10 days  Per the product label, for smaller applications: mix 4.3 fl oz per gallon of water per 500 sq ft and for larger areas: apply 21 fl oz (1.1 pints) per 4 gallons of water per 2000 sq ft area. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year.   For Poa Annua Prevention, we recommend applying a pre ermergent in early spring and late fall to prevent the weeds from germinating.
