Been using a pro co. for a yearr to get rid of springtails. Used Talstar, Termidor, and Bifen granules. Still seeing them on the house and inside. Treated around one side of townhouse, three to a building, no problems on other units. Just the shaded side of house. Got rid of mulch last year. No standing water, only water is rain. Treat around the home monthly. Spouts are buried. Only place in whole complex with an issue. Checked all 15 other buildings. Any thoughts?? Cedar siding too.
Springtails can survive anywhere if their basic needs are being met; moisture, food, harborage. There could be a leaking/sweating pipe providing the moisture they require to survive or the springtails could be under a concrete slab which is often the case when they seem impossible to get rid of. The products you are using are effective and will kill this pest if you can get the product and the pest together. Some springtail treatments can consist of treating under a slab by drilling through the concrete to deposit a liquid concentrate directly to the area or even opening a wall to find the source and directly treat the area.
