Can Surrender PesTabs be dissolved and used as a root drench for aphids in potted plants?

I have read that lambda-cyhalothrin is effective against aphids. If Surrender PesTabs are not suitable, do you have any other products with the same active ingredient designed for a root drench application? Also, I am considering a drench with imidacloprid instead.

Answer:

Surrender PesTabs cannot be used as a systemic insecticide. The active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid and like almost all synthetic pyrethroids it binds to the soil and can not move through the root system of the plant. We do recommend using products with the active ingredient  Imidacloprid for systemic applications. Merit can be used as a soil drench, soil injection, trunk injection or foliage spray.
