Can I use Acelepryn Insecticide when I seed the lawn and will it be effective when seeds sprout?

Planned overseeding this fall will now be full seeding due to Fall Army Worm brown out (am applying Montery Bt now). Can I put down acelepryn when I reseed in October and if so, will it be present in new shoots once seed sprouts to head off new attacks of later worm generations prior to freeze? Also, I thought it was a liquid, but see reference to granules - please clarify. Thanks

Answer:

Acelepryn Insecticide does come in a liquid and granular formulation. It can be used on new grass seed for insect control but you should test a small inconspicuous area first as newly planted turfgrass can be sensitive to various product applications. Per the product label, for maximum residual control, heavy pest pressure or if the areas to be treated are maintained at a mowing height greater than 1 inch, apply up to 20 fl oz per acre. Repeat treatments can be done as needed but no more than once every 7 days.
