Carpet beetles larvae

Found the main problem inside my couches. I found a lot of shell casing inside the couch and quite a few live ones. and 1 in between the box spring and mattress. I removed the material on the back of the box spring and got rid of the wool on the corners with the sheddings on it, but did not find any live ones. my questions is can they hurt me and my dog. should I throw away my box spring and couches.

Answer:

Carpet beetles larvae will not harm people or pets. They live off off the dander and other organic materials found in furniture and carpets. Please visit our Carpet Beetle control Page.  Apply Bedlam to the furniture to treat the larvae.
