Live animal traps have a Space Saving Design ideal for easy storage.

Feral cats are felines that do not have homes, but instead wander throughout neighborhoods and office parks in search of food and shelter. Some kind hearted people will feed feral cats, so the same cats may often be spotted near your home. These cats, also known as alley cats or neighborhood cats, are often harmless but do sometimes need to be removed from your property. That’s where feral cat traps can assist.

Feral cat traps are secure traps that are strong enough to contain a cat without harming the animal. Traps have a trip plate that is designed to be used for cats, so small animals like squirrels will not trigger the spring-loaded door. Feral cat traps can also fold down for easy storage when not in use and are able to be reused time and again as needed.

Place traps around your property where feral cats have been seen. Put wet cat food, kibble, or protein like chicken or tuna on a paper plate within the trap. The food should lure the cat into the trap. The spring-loaded door will shut once the cat is inside the trap, enclosing the animal without harm.

Some traps come with accessories, like burlap covers, which allow you to soothe the cat as needed. Other traps have special doors that enable you to feed the cat without releasing the cat from the trap.

Once the cat is within the trap, it can then be transported to a shelter or a veterinarian. Take the cat to be neutered or spayed before returning home to help control the population of homeless cats. The traps can be reused to transport the cat back to your neighborhood and most traps come with a helpful handle for easy carrying and to help keep the trap away from your body.
