It is fine to use different products out of the same sprayer such as the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer (#20000), as long as you triple rinse the sprayer and wash it out thoroughly. If you do not wash it out thoroughly, then you could damage or kill the desirable plants/grass, etc. with any herbicide residual left in your sprayer. You should always triple rinse the sprayer if you are changing the product that you are using. Triple rinse means to rinse out the inside of the sprayer 3 times, and also fill it with water and run clean water through the hose for at least 1 minute to make sure that there is no residual left in the hose in addition to the tank. We also sell tank cleaners that are excellent for removing any possible residual from your sprayer.
The Chapin sprayer #20000 does not have a pressure relief valve. Only the Premier sprayers, models #21200 and #21210 come with a pressure relief valve. Please contact Chapin to troubleshoot at (800) 444-3140. Please let us know if you need anything else.
The Chapin 1 gallon pump sprayer comes with an adjustable tip that can be adjusted from pin stream to cone spray, and to coarse stream, but does not have a fan spray pattern. However, it will work fine to apply Boracare. The Boracare product label does recommend that you mix the Boracare with very warm to hot water in a bucket and then add the dilution to the sprayer to avoid clogging.
We recommend that you rinse out the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer (#20000) after each use. You should not leave mixed solution in the sprayer longer than 24 hrs.
The Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer spray patterns available are a pin stream, cone and coarse stream. There is not an attachment available for the equipment to disperse a finer mist.
