    Can I use Charger Basic Herbicide in lieu of Pennant Magnum?
    Both labels are identifcal in terms of active ingredients and percentage although Charger doesn't specifically state for use on turf grass. Charger is much less expensive as well as packaged in 2.5 gal versus 1 gal for Pennant. Can I use Charger instead of Pennant Magnum for my St. Augustine lawn?

    No, per the product label of Charger Basic Herbicide, "Do not use in nurseries, turf, or landscape plantings."

    Is Charger Basic Herbicide labeled to kill sericea lespedeza?
    A

    Charger Basic Herbicide does not list lespedeza on the product label as one of the weeds it will control.

    Is Charger Basic Herbicide the generic brand of Pennant Magnum but labeled for crops instead of lawns/turfgrass?
    A

    Yes, Charger Basic Herbicide uses the same active ingredient S-metolachlor - 83.7% as Pennant Magnum however Charger Basic is registered as an agricultural product for use around listed crops on the product label and specifically advises “ do not use on turf, landscape plantings or in nurseries” 

    Pennant Magnum is labeled to be used in Commercial and Residential warm-season turfgrass and ornamentals as well as other non crop areas. Please view the product label for more information.
