    Is Cimexa safer than diatomaceous earth?
    A

    CimeXa Dust is similar to diatomaceous earth in that it is an all-natural product that does not break down over time. However, CimeXa Dust is more finely processed than most DE products, allowing for very low use rates. CimeXa also works as a direct dessicant, meaning the insects only have to contact the dust for a short amount of time rather than actually moving across it, so it does kill a little more quickly than DE. CimeXa Dust will be effective as long as it is present in the treatment area and remains dry.

    Is CimeXa harmful to Bees?
    A

    While CimeXa Insecticide Dust is not labeled for bees, it is not really selective in the insects it kills so can harm bees if they contact a treated area long enough to pick up the product and be effected.

    What is the best long term bed bug dust?
    My next door neighbor is a frequent traveler so I would like to do some bed bug prevention in our place (feel free to tell me if you think this sounds too paranoid). I was thinking about removing the baseboard and putting a good dust behind it along the walls. Can you please tell me which dust would be be the best choice for this task (no pets and no kids in the house). Thanks a lot.

     Cimexa Dust would be a good option for you to use to treat or prevent bed bugs.  It will last up to 10 years in undisturbed areas.  You may also want to take a look at our Bed Bug Prevention Guide for more tips and information.

    Is it advisable to mix CimeXa Dust with a pyrethroid dust, such as Delta Dust or Tempo 1% dust?
    A

    While it is not usually needed to mix another type of dust with CimeXa Insecticide Dust you could do so as long as they were applied as directed on their respective product labels.  CimeXa does work very well on its own and actually has a broader label of applications than either Delta Dust or Tempo 1%.

    What product should CimeXa Insecticide Dust be paired with to treat for bed bugs?
    I was skimming through the reviews and read a reply left by an expert on here that said that although this is a good product, you recommend not to use it alone because it can take a few days to kill bedbugs so, what can you pair this with? also what can I use to apply it?

    We recommend several different products to use in conjuction with CimeXa Insecticide Dust for bed bug control.     How do you use CimeXa on shelves that have cashmere sweaters stored on them?
    A

    CimeXa Insecticide Dust would only be applied to the cracks of the shelves where it meets the walls and other areas where insects would harbor.

    Will white residue left on couch after liquid CimeXa Insecticide Dust treatment dry clear? If not when to vacuum?
    Sprayed and 'painted' recommended amount to couch tufts, edges, bottom, between cushions. Left white residue. Will it dry clear? IF not when can I wipe, or vacuum?

    Since CimeXa Insecticide Dust will dry back to powder formulation, it can leave a white residue on darker surfaces. You can wipe and vacuum the residue away.

    Should I use Cimexa dust prior to drywalling a new home?
    I am getting close to drywalling a new home in central texas. I have treated with you Boracare before foam insulation for termite control. Should I dust with Cimexa dust prior to drywall for spiders ants, scorpions and such? Wet spray? Or is there a better product with long residual for inside walls? Thanks

    Cimexa would be a fantastic option for treating wall voids prior to putting up drywall for long term insect protection on a new home. You can apply it in dry or wet form, whatever is easiest for you as the residual will not change with your choice in application method.

    Is Cimexa suspended in water suppose to leave a white Residue?
    I mixed one 4oz bottle of Cimexa with 1 quart of water, this should be 1/4th of the usual 1 lb to 1 Gallon of water formula. The solutions looks very cloudy and when applied leaves a white residue. I know I'm suppose to thinly apply dry dust or else the bed bugs will avoid walking in it. My question is, will the bed bugs avoid the white residue?

    Per the CimeXa label,  the product does not dissolve in water and will be left behind after evaporation.  So you don't need to apply it very heavy, just a light dusting will be enough that the bed bugs will walk through it and pick the dust up on their bodies.

    Should I leave the room after dusting with CimeXa?

    You should only apply small amounts of CimeXa Insecticide Dust. The dust should not be piled up as it could deter insects from crossing over it. It’s recommended to keep children and pets out until the dust has settled.

    How much water do I add to a bottle of Cimexa Dust?
    A

    Per the Cimexa Insecticide Dust product label: Liquid Application: This product can also be used as a spray. Mix 1 lb. of product with 1 gallon of clean water. Apply approx. 1 qt of solution per 250 sq ft. of area to be treated. The product will be left behind after the water evaporates.

    How do I apply Cimexa dust to baseboards?
    A

    CimeXa Insecticide Dust can be applied with a bellow hand duster or bulb duster under baseboards, underneath carpeted edges, inside walls, and other tight spaces/voids.

    Does using Cimexa dust require using a respirator mask?

     If you are concerned about breathing the product in, we would recommend using a respirator mask when using the product. Be sure to let the dust stay down for at least 24 hours before vacuuming the area.

    How many puffs of the cry Cimexa from a B&G M1150 Bulb Duster to create 4 oz for in between the wall locations?
    Your website says to put 4 OZ of Cimexa in between sheet rock. If I were to drill holes in the sheet rock every 16" so I could puff the CimeXa into the wall cavity (between the sheet rock) how many puffs would be enough to kill these bed bugs? And will the CimeXa stay in the wall cavity once sealed or will it come into the house, as I don't want to be breathing this stuff. Thanks

    You should only need to use 1-2 puffs in each hole to apply CimeXa Insecticide Dust, it is really only applied in a very light dusting.  You actually do not have to drill when using the B&G M1150 Bulb Duster, you can just use one of the tips and appy under the baseboard as shown in our video here.  CimeXa can last up to 10 years in undisturbed areas such as wall voids.

    I have deep pile carpet which could easily host bed bugs. Should I dust the entire bedroom carpet with CimeXa?
    Carpet is thick and deep "frieze" style and different shades of brown. Would be impossible to vacuum deeply. Would I puff dust the CimeXa all over the carpets (very dusty) or mix with water and spray down? Either way, since it's recommended to vacuum carpets often, would I want to leave it down for a couple weeks to make sure the bugs and newly hatched nymphs would walk across it.

    Treating for bed bugs in a carpet would be very similar to treating for fleas. You will apply the CimeXa Insecticide Dust as a lightly dusted broadcast application over carpets and rugs and along baseboards. Dust applied to carpets and rugs should be brushed in using a stiff carpet brush or broom. This allows the very fine particles to work down into the nap of carpeting where bed bug eggs and pupae hide. Once the product is brushed into carpeting, regular vacuuming will not disturb it so you will still want to be sure you are vacuuming daily, or every other day, for 14 days.

    Is CimeXa approved for Carpenter Bees?

    CimeXa Dust is not specifically labeled for carpenter bees. We recommend that you apply Delta Dust to the holes. It is waterproof and offer a long lasting residual outside as well as indoor crevices.

    I can see bedbugs (little ones) in the bathroom tiles (in the wall). Can I use the CimeXa Insecticide Dust in this area?

    Yes, CimeXa Insecticide Dust can be used in this area.  You will need a duster to apply, such as the B&G Bulb Duster.  You may also want to take a moment to read over our Bed Bug Guide.
