This is intended for large bodies of water and cannot be used in small ponds containing koi or gold fish.
Cutrine-Plus is one of the most popular algaecides on the market today. It is a double-chelated copper solution effective against a wide variety of algal species. Due to its double-chelate it stays in the water column longer, and in combination with its greater amount of activity in the plant can be much more effective. Cutrine-Plus is the only chelated copper algaecide that is patented on the market today.

Works just like it said

I have moss issues in my 1 1/2 acre pond. I have tried everything and raking was all that would get it out of the pond. I got the Cutrine Plus and sprayed according to directions. Got a rain after 24 hours of spraying and the moss left. When the water went back to normal moss was there but turned brown and no new moss is coming in. Still have some spots of the brown moss that has not left but nothing new.

It's Working!

I found this to be the best price on the Internet for Cutrine Plus Algaecide. I was pleased that my delivery arrived well ahead of when I expected. I have applied several diluted gallons at the 9:1 dilution rate from a tank sprayer and have seen excellent results on our 2-3 acre pond. Thanks, DMOPC!

Rids ponds of Algae

I have 2 ponds. One is about 20 foot long 3 foot wide stream only 1.5 foot deep. Another 20 x 15 only 2 foot deep. How much product to treat both at one application?
You should not use Cutrine Plus Aglaecide for small ponds containing koi fish. This is the verbiage from the product label: This product may be toxic to trout and other species of fish. Fish toxicity is dependent upon the hardness of water. Do not use in water containing trout if the carbonate hardness of water does not exceed 50 ppm. Do not use in waters containing Koi and hybrid goldfish. Not intended for use in small volume, garden pond systems.
Unfortunately we do not carry an algaecide to be used in small koi ponds. We recommend you talk to a local koi pond supplier.

Our controller of the lake we live on suggest we use it around the area of our boathouse and the granules would work best.

Although it is not approved for such use, I can legally do it. Also, it is more environmentally friendly than using chlorine. How many ounces per gallon of water would you expect to provide good algae control on a concrete tile roof?

I have a two acre pond with algae around most of the shore about 8ft out. Can I spray the algae mat directly to eliminate the algae without treating the entire pond? I would like to spray the algae in sections to eliminate any possible harm to the fish.
Yes, Cutrine Plus can be used on algae mats. You do not want to treat the entire pond all at once so that you do not harm the fish. You will use 1.5-2 gallons per surface acre of pond. You will treat 1/2 of the pond and wait 2 weeks and do the second treatment. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.

I have (2) 1/2+acre ponds which are overrun with bottom growing algea, which consumes the pond. There are several types of fish in the ponds and I have livestock in both fields where the ponds are, so it must be safe for animals and fish. I have tried numourous solutions, but all that is empty is my wallet.
Cutrine Plus Algaecide is one of our most popular algaecides, effective against the most popular varieties of pond algae. Please be aware this and other algaecides with copper should not be used in water containing koi, trout, or goldfish, or in water that sheep or goats may drink. We would encourage you to be sure that you have correctly identified the algae or plant that you are treating to ensure you are using the best products. You can find a good resource at pondplantid.com or by contacting your local Department of Natural Resources.

Per the Weedtrine-D product label: Where algae are present along with the submersed weeds, pre-treatment with CUTRINE-PLUS® Algaecide is advised for optimum results. Since it advises to pre-treat with the Cutrine Plus we would recommend doing it in seperate applications and give sufficient time for the Cutrine to work.

I am looking for a product to kill green macro algae at the bottom of a saltwater exhibit. Would this product be helpful? Thanks.
No, Cutrine Plus Algaecide is designed for use in large bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, and reservoirs and not in small containerized water. Usually salt water tanks will need to be cleaned thoroughly and the nutrient levels in the water may need to be adjusted to reduce the likelihood of growth of the algae. We would recommend trying to identify what specific algae you need to treat for the best recommendation.

You will want to apply Cutrine Plus Algaecide as directed on the product label based on the surface acre, depth of the pond and the type of algae you are targeting specifically. It is not suggested to apply only on the edge for submersed algae control.
