    Q
Can I apply Cyonara 9.7 on the carpet?
We just moved into our new house, and I found carpet beetle everywhere. Can I use Cyonara 9.7 on the carpet? We do have 2 small dogs in the house. Is it safe if they lick the carpet after the application?
    A
Cyonara is labeled to be used as a crack and crevice treatment only. You should use Onslaught insecticide if you would like to do a broadcast treatment over the carpeted areas. You should also note that daily vacuuming will help to remove many of the adult beetles along with the larvae. You should thoroughly inspect the house to find where the source of the infestation is actually located. Failing to get rid of the source of the infestation will lead to treatment failure. Please take a few minutes to read our CARPET BEETLE article to learn more about eliminating a carpet beetle infestation.

    Q
Is Cyonara harmful to beneficial or harmless critters living outdoors, such as earthworms, birds, frogs, snakes, or lizards?
Is Cyonara harmful to beneficial or harmless critters living outdoors, such as earthworms, birds, frogs, snakes, or lizards?
    A
Cyonara could potentially be harmful to earthworms and any other insect that crosses over the treated area as it is not a selective insecticide. Cyonara should not cause any issues for other animals as long as they are not sprayed with the product. You will most likely see reduction in the animals that are there to eat the insects in your lawn because the insects will be gone and the critters will go elsewhere to look for a meal.

to prevent wasp & mud dauber nests and minimize spiders, etc.
    A
Cyonara 9.7 is a fantastic product for control of wasps, spiders, mud daubers as well as a multitude of other insects in the area. Spray all around the foundation of the home, the window and door frames, and eaves and edges of the home and the porch arease to eliminate any pests lurking in that area or trying to build new nests. The Cyonara will typically hold up to the outdoor elements roughly 60 days.

  • Asked by Bryson from Forbes Nd
    06/08/2015
    Q
How does Cyonara 9.7 work on mosquitos? How does it compare to excite R? Can it be used with Talstar?
    A
Cyonara 9.7 would be most comparable to Talstar P for mosquito control, we would normally recommend Talstar P the most because it's known to be more gentle on plants. It is not recommended for you to mix two insecticides together such as Cyonara 9.7 and Talstar P. ExciteR, on the other hand, doesn't give a long residual and it can be mixed with Talstar P. ExciteR will give you a fast knockdown and Talstar will offer the long residual. Mosquitoes must land on the treated areas to be killed so be sure you are spraying the areas where they are known to land such as the underside of the leaves on trees and shrubs. It is also helpful to spray a 2 ft wide band around the perimeter of your property, including door frames and window frames, to deter low flying mosquitoes from entering.

  • Asked by Jen from Munroe Falls, Oh
    10/16/2013
    Q
Does Cyonara 9.7 have an expiration date?
I bought a bottle a year ago and had great results. I used it 3 more times over the year (in and out) and just did my last application a week ago (indoors only). Still have spiders everywhere inside. Does the product become weaker over time, or was my mistake not also spraying the outside? Is there anything else you'd recommend for common house spiders?
    A
Cyonara 9.7 should be stored away from extreme temperatures. The product will last up to 3 years from the date of purchase. If mixed, you should discard the portion of the solution that was not used after 24 hours of being mixed. For spider control, you can mix 12-24ml per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. Treat indoor cracks and crevices every three months and on the exterior of the home monthly. Treat all entry points into the home. It is also helpful to use glue boards inside the home to trap spiders.

    Q
How long after spraying my lawn with Cyonara 9.7 should I wait to water my grass?
    A

You want to give the Cyonara 9.7 ample time to dry before you water your lawn.  After making your application we would suggest waiting 24 hours or so before watering.  If you were to water sooner than that you would just be washing away the insecticide that you just applied.

    Q
What do you recommend for Carpenter ants, carpenter bees, yellow jackets, other pests?
What do you recommend for Carpenter ants, carpenter bees , yellow jackets. other pests, but mostly what I mentioned. It is a tossup for me between Temp 1% , Delta Dust or Drione. I will get a hand duster bulb. Need to use inside and outside. We do have small children here at times and a pet, but I don't want that to be the 100% deciding factor. I can keep them away clean up areas etc. Thank You!!
    A
For any nests of the carpenter bees or yellow jackets we would suggest dusting the holes directly with either Tempo or Delta Dust. Both will do a great job of controlling the nest and give you the results you are looking for. For all other areas around the home for general pests including ants as well as treatment indoors around baseboards, we would recommend something like Cyonara 9.7. Cyonara is great product that will dry clear, is virtually odorless, and can be sprayed on bushes and areas the carpenter bees and wasps land as well as around the foundation and window and door frames. As long as you keep pets and children out of the area while you spray and until the surfaces have dried it will be safe for them to be in the area.

    Q
I want to stain a deck infested with capenter bees. Can I apply Cyonara first or stain first?
    A
Cyonara kills as athe bee comes in contact with it. If you were to stain over the treated area, it may cause an adverse effect. We recommend using Boracare to raw untreated wood. After the treated area has dried you can paint, stain, treat with what ever product you chose.

  • Asked by Don from Greenwood, La
    09/17/2017
    Q
Will Cyonara 9.7 kill love bugs? Can I spray it on my house? Will it kill plants?
    A

While Cyonara 9.7 is not labeled specifically for love bugs, it will kill them. It can be applied to plants, but we wouldn't recommend spraying directly on any blooms as discoloration may occur.  It is a water-based product and should not stain any surface that water itself would not stain, so there should be no problem applying to your siding.  Having said that, we always recommend that you test old siding or old paint for staining before applying to the entire surface.
