to prevent wasp & mud dauber nests and minimize spiders, etc.
    A
Cyonara 9.7 is a fantastic product for control of wasps, spiders, mud daubers as well as a multitude of other insects in the area. Spray all around the foundation of the home, the window and door frames, and eaves and edges of the home and the porch arease to eliminate any pests lurking in that area or trying to build new nests. Q
Good all around insecticide for my yard
I've got a large backyard and I need an effective insecticide for the perimeter of my property. I live in Arizona, so the typical pests are crickets, spiders, roaches, ants, and scorpions. I currently use CyKick around the perimeter of my home and have had great results. Do to the size of the area my trying to cover, using a pump sprayer would take all day. Ideally I'd like to use the insecticide in a hose end type of application. Can you recommend a cost effective product that satisfies these requirements?
    A
We would recommend using Cyonara 9.7 which is used at roughly 1/2 ounce per gallon of water which should be an option or setting on the dial of your hose end sprayer. The Cyonara is microencapsulated like the Cy Kick you have been using so it will hold up well to the outdoor elements in your area in Arizona and will cover a broad range of pest in and around the home and lawn. It is very cost effective in both the 8oz and 32oz sizes.

    Q
Recommendation for controlling adult mosquitoes and not much else.
I live in an area heavily invested with mosquitoes. I've been using Cyonara 9.7 for a couple of years (once a month during the spring and summer @ 0.8 oz per gal.) and been reasonably happy with the lack of mosquitoes. However I have noticed a reduction in other insects that haven' bothered me so much. Could you recommend a product that is more specific to mosquitoes, or perhaps a product that lasts longer? I live in Michigan
    A
Unfortunately insecticides like Cyonara 9.7 are not selective and will kill just about any insect that contacts the treated surface area.  There is not one that will only mosquitoes and nothing else.

  • Asked by Bryce from South Lyon, Mi

    Q
I have a log cabin in northern Michigan that I need to spray for prevention of carpenter ants and bees.
I would also like to use it for mosquito spraying. It is near water as well. I was considering a Solo back pack blower for application. What is the best product and application?
    A

To spray around the log cabin for carpenter ants and bees, we would recommend Cyonara 9.7. This product will not stain the wood on the cabin. This can be used inside the Solo 451 backpack sprayer as well.

If you are spraying for mosquitos around water, we would recommend EcoVia EC. It is made with liquid botanical oils and can be applied around the water without harming the aquatic life.

    Q
Can Steri-Fab be used with Cyonara 9.7?
Can I use Cyonara 9.7 and Steri-Fab together?
    A
There is no reason to mix Cyonara 9.7 and Steri-Fab together.  Steri-Fab is a ready to use product that requires not mixing with water or anything and can be used just about anywhere you are actively seeing bugs.  Cyonara is a concentrate that should only be mixed with water and applied along baseboards and cracks and crevices.

    A
Cyonara would be a great choice. It can be applied around the outside perimeter 2-3 feet up and out and all entry points. Also, indoors to cracks and crevices. It is safe for people and pets after the treated area has dried.

  • Asked by Michaela from Fairgrove, Michigan
    10/21/2014
    Q
Can you help me identity what kind of spider I have captured?
I found a spider in my door way a month ago. It is shiny black and has a single rust colored spot on it's ventral underbelly. It is smaller than a standard pencil eraser. I put it in a mason jar to get a better look. It has thin yellowish legs with brown stripes on them and large black fangs. After I removed the spider from it's home in my doorway another spider of the same species took it's place. I have compared photos of black widow and brown widow spiders to the spiders I have in my mason jar and have found they most resemble a widow spider. What kind do you think it is?
    A
While you have given a great description of the spider, we could not safe for certain without seeing a picture of the pest. Is there any way you can take a few clear pictures of either the one in the jar or the one that replaced the one you caught? This will allow us to make a proper identification. If you can, email the picture to [email protected]. That being said, no spider species is really any harder to kill than another, so even if it was a black or brown widow, the method would be the same for treatment as it would if it were the granddaddy long legged spider, wolf spider or any other species. You can use a product like Cyonara 9.7 indoors around baseboards and cracks and crevices, around window and door frames, and all around the foundation of the home outside. You will want to spray 2-3 feet up on the side of the home and 3-4 feet out on the ground, and around any other points of entry for the pest. Also, keep in mind when you have spiders around the home they are there because they have a plentiful food source so anything you have around the home (flower beds with pine straw or mulch, landscape rock, etc) that could be providing great shelter and living conditions for the spiders food sources needs to be treated heavily as well to deter them from the home.

    Q
How much to add to 1/4 oz of Cyonara 9.7 for treating bedbugs? How much water for 1/2 oz?
    A
You will mix one gallon of water to 0.2 fl oz or 0.4 fl oz of Cyonara 9.7 for bedbug treatments.
    Per the product label-
Clean floors and surfaces by vacuuming. Apply as a coarse, low pressure spray to harborage areas including crevices, baseboards, loose plaster, behind bed frames and headboards,
beneath beds and furniture, and to bedsprings and bed frames. Do not apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.

  • Asked by Bryson from Forbes Nd
    06/08/2015
    Q
How does Cyonara 9.7 work on mosquitos? How does it compare to excite R? Can it be used with Talstar?
    A
Cyonara 9.7 would be most comparable to Talstar P for mosquito control, we would normally recommend Talstar P the most because it's known to be more gentle on plants. It is not recommended for you to mix two insecticides together such as Cyonara 9.7 and Talstar P. ExciteR, on the other hand, doesn't give a long residual and it can be mixed with Talstar P. ExciteR will give you a fast knockdown and Talstar will offer the long residual. Mosquitoes must land on the treated areas to be killed so be sure you are spraying the areas where they are known to land such as the underside of the leaves on trees and shrubs. It is also helpful to spray a 2 ft wide band around the perimeter of your property, including door frames and window frames, to deter low flying mosquitoes from entering.

    Q
Can I use Cyonara 9.7 in the pool area to treat bees and is it hamful for swiming?
I have a neighbor that has a bee hive and they are coming around my pool and are in my rock waterfall.
    A
Cyonara 9.7 Insecticide can be used AROUND your pool, not in it. You will spray around the pool and can use something like Delta Dust in your rock waterfall since it is water proof. It will make it uninhabitable for them to live.

    Q
Is it best to mow my lawn before I apply cyonara 0.50 to my lawn for fleas
    A
For flea control, it would be best to mow the grass two days before Cyonara application. This way the product will be more likely to get down to the fleas.
