    Q
What is the difference between using Cyzmic and Suspend?
I contacted you guys about using a pesticide for indoor and outdoor use. It is a new construction home and we already have problems with roaches, spiders, wasps, mosquitos because I live next to the woods and lake. I was advised to buy Cyzmic but it looks like Suspend Polyzone would also be a good option. Please advise! I live on 1.3 acre and want to treat my lawn as well as indoors.
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide and Suspend Polyzone are comparable in terms of how long they can last on outside surfaces, up to 90 days and are labeled for the same pests.  The differences is in the active ingredient and the formulation.  Cyzmic is micro-encapsulated which means each drop of active is encased in a small capsule that insects contact and pick on and they rupture to get a direct hit of the active.  Polyzone contains a polymer that helps it stick to surfaces better for the longer residual.  Either would be good to use, but CS products tend to work better on harder to kill insects such as scorpions and spiders since they actually pick it up and get the hit of active.

    Q
Can I use Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide on hardwood floor?
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide is labeled for use indoors around baseboards and cracks and crevices.  If you follow the manufacturer's product label and mix accordingly, the product should not leave any residue, but be sure to only apply a fine mist around baseboards.  The Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide is not labeled for broadcast spraying over your entire flooring.

    Q
What shall I use to spray on outside of house foundation to prevent spiders entering?
I intend to spray on the ground just at the intersection of the foundation to prevent spiders from coming in my house
    A

Cyzmic CS would be a great product as a barrier spray to kill insects that contact the treated surface.  While there is not a product that will keep them out, sealing up all cracks and crevices that allow them entry is best way to prevent insects inside.  We also have a great general pest prevention guide that can help.

    Q
Should I clean up dust before I spray Cyzmic CS?
I have boric acid down all around base boards, cracks and crevices. And IGR before I spray?
    A

You do want to apply Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide to a clean surface and remove any dust or debri before application so that the spray contacts the surface for better application and continous barrier.  Dusts are best used applied to cracks and crevices and under baseboards where it will not be disturbed.

    Q
What is good general insecticide to use in a desert landscape around with a swimming pool nearby? I'm concerned about runoff from rain water flowing into the pool.
    A

You can use a product like Cyzmic CS to treat this type of area.  You do want to apply about 24 hours before you are expecting any rain.  After that point there should be no issue with rainwater causing the product to run off into the pool.

    Q
Can I apply Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide outdoors if there is snow on the ground?
    A

No, you need the ground to be dry when applying Cyzmic CS- Micro-encapsulated Insecticide since you want it to completely be able to dry on the area you are applying it in. The product cannot adhere to wet surfaces, The ground should be completely or close to completely dry when the application takes places so that the product stays where you are applying it.

    Q
How long does it take to kill scorpions with Cyzmic CS?
    A

It is hard to say exactly how long it will take Cyzmic CS to kill a scorpion.  This will depend on several factors, such as how long the scorpion was in contact with a treated area, the size and health of the scorpion, and how much of the active ingredient was picked up.  Typically it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so.

    Q
How many square feet should one gallon of Cyzmic CS cover?
For mosquito control I am using the .8 oz per gallon mix rate. How many square feet should one gallon cover? Thanks
    A

One gallon of finished solution of Cyzmic CS should cover about 1,000 square feet. If you are using the highest rate, then you may want to consider using a slightly higher volume of water to ensure thorough coverage on foliage where mosquitoes rest. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Guide for more tips.

  • Asked by Gj from Long Branch

    Q
What are the pros/cons of using Cyzmic CS over Bifen IT for mosquito control?
    A

Cyzmic CS is an encapsulated insecticide, which means each bit of active ingredient is protected in its own capsule. This helps the active ingredient to stay stable for longer, especially in the harsh heat, sunlight, and rainfall many areas get during the Summer months when mosquitoes are most prevalent. Encapsulation also helps to distribute the product more evenly over surfaces like foliage, and it keeps the product in place better, preventing runoff. Since mosquitoes may only touch a leaf in a few small spots, encapsulated insecticides give us the best chance that a mosquito or other target pest will pick up a bigger chunk of that active ingredient more quickly. We also use less product per application, and applicators get less exposure to active ingredients . The only real disadvantage to a product like Cyzmic CS is that it costs more per application than Bifen IT. If you have a very large area to treat or need the extra flexibility of some of the additional pests on the Bifen IT label, then the Bifen may be a better choice for you.

    Q
At what rate do you mix Cyzmic CS to treat for scorpions?
Just wondering how many mL per gallon for the best residual control for scorpions.
    A

The mixing ratio for Cyzmic CS is 0.2 - 0.8 oz. per gallon of water. This is 6-24 mL. We would recommend using the higher ratio (24 mL) per gallon of water for scorpions. This product will last for 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.

    Q
Can you mix Cyzmic CS with Talstar P?
    A

There really is no reason to mix Cyzmic CS and Talstar P as they're both synthetic pyrethroids so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Mixing these two products would make the concentration too strong and instead may act as a repellent causing insects to simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.

    Q
Would Cyzmic CS be good to use on my lawn to get rid of mites/ticks?
We have these super tiny red bugs that get on my puppy everytime he goes out on the lawn in southern California. At first, we thought they were baby ticks, then maybe mites of some sort. I've tried Permethrin SFR, but still see them. What is the best/strongest thing to use?
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide would be a great propduct to use as a lawn broadcast to kill and prevent clover mites and over 200 other labeled insects. Simply mix 0.8 oz per gallon of water and apply as a liberal braodcast spray over your entire lawn. Outdoor applications such as these would require a retreatment every 30-60 days. Be sure to keep children and pets out of the treated area until it dries completely. Once dry, it is completely safe for pets.

Do you need a professional applicator license to purchase Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide?
    A

In most states you do not need a license to use the products on our website if you are using them on your own property. • Asked by Josh from Ashland, Ohio

    Q
Why isn't Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide working with carpenter bees?
I have mixed this at 1/2 oz per gallon of water. I sprayed there area of living twice. Today I mixed some up and actually sprayed them while they were flying/hovering around there nests and most of them shook it off like it was nothing. I may have killed one or two but what gives?
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide does not kill on contact. The insect has to ingest the product or it has to make its way through the follicles into the insect.  It does not sound like it has been enough time to knockdown the population.  We also recommend to dust in the holes that are bored so that the larvae would be killed. Be sure to review our Carpenter Bee Guide.

How does Cyzmic CS compare to Cy-Kick CS for scorpion control?
    A

Both Cy- Kick and Cyzmic work fantastic for scorpion control. Both are microencapsulated and both leave approx 2-3 month residual. The difference is that they have different active ingredients that both work great for scorpion control.
