    What's the rate of Defendor Herbicide per gallon water?
    A

    The mixing rate of Defendor Herbicide is 0.09 fl oz per gallon of water. This will cover 1000 square feet.

    Is Defendor Herbicide safe for lawns with dogs and free range chickens?
    A

    As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until Defendor Herbicide application has had time to completely dry it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity

    Can Defendor Herbicide be used in vegetable garden areas?
    Is there any residual effect to soil? Can I use this product to control weeds in vegetable gardening. Will it prevent vegetable seeds from germinating?

    Defendor Herbicide is not labeled for use around edible plants such as a vegetable garden. There are very few residual herbicides that have such labeling.     I seeded my lawn a week ago. Now the lawn care company put down Defendor. Will my grass seed come up?
    A

    According to the product label you should apply Defendor to newly seeded or sprigged turfgrass only after the third mowing or after the turfgrass seedlings have tillered and developed an adequate secondary root system. Your grass seed may have been damaged due to this application.

    Should Defendor Herbicide be watered in after the application?

    Defendor Herbicide does not require any additional watering following the application. Per the product label, for standard broadcast applications, use no less than 0.5 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft.     Does Defendor harm birds and bees?
    I have bird feeders out & bird baths out. The neighbor just sprayed Defender.

    Defendor Herbicide is safe for wildlife when used as directed.  It should not be sprayed over bird baths nor while animals are present until dry to ensure no injury.

    Do i need to add a surfactante when i spray. Defender no. My. Lawn

    The manufacturer's product label does state that a non-ionic surfactant should be added to Defendor Herbicide when tank mixing to increase effectiveness.
