    Q
Which product will work best for roaches Demand CS or Demand SC?
    A

There is only Demand CS, we are not aware of a Demand SC product.  One of our roach control kits would be more recommended for roach control. These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get Roach Bait Gel to help get rid of those roaches that like to hide. Baits can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, an Insect Growth Regulator is offered which will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. The insecticide must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer.

    Q
Is Demand CS effective on brown recluse spiders?
    A

Demand CS would be a great choice for brown recluse spider control as well as general insect control. Brown Recluse spiders are very scary to have in your house, but they are no harder to get rid of than any other spider. The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Demand CS would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. Spraying Demand CS will also help to get rid of the other insects (silverfish, sow bugs aka rollie pollies and millipedes) that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving inside. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

  • Asked by Edward from San Antonio, Tx

    Q
Will Demand CS work on chiggers when sprayed in a yard?
    A

Yes, Demand CS is applied to lawns at the rate of 7ml per 1,000 sq ft. Treatments for chiggers should begin in May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Demand CS to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

    Q
Is Demand CS the best to add to Talstar P?
I currently use Talstar P both inside and out, with decent results. I still have some small black flies, indoors. Maybe fungus gnats or a fruit fly, I'm not sure. Is this the right thing to mix with my Talstar?
    A

No, it is not recommended that you mix two insecticides together. This would essentially be doubling up on the product and may cause the adverse effect.

A good option would be to use PT Alpine Pressurized Fly Bait in the area where you are having an issue. Apply inside all garbage receptacles, underneath garbage lids, inside recycling bins or receptacles, and other labeled areas that will help prevent flies from being a nuisance.

    Q
What is the shelf life of a gallon of Demand CS working solution?
Is it okay to make up a gallon to have on hand when needed, or does it not last long in solution?
    A

You should use diluted solution of Demand CS or other insecticide concentrates as soon as possible and within 24 hours. After this time, the active ingredient breaks down quickly in solution. Shelf life of the concentrate is 3-5 years when stored in a temperate environment out of direct sunlight.

    Q
What is the mix rate for using Demand CS when using the Chapin Wet/Dry Hose End Sprayer for Japanese Beetles?
When using a Chapin Hose End sprayer connected to a water hose, what should I set the dial at in order to kill Japanese beetles?
    A

When using Demand CS to treat Japanese Beetles, the mix rates vary depending if you are treating the lawn or ornamentals. Please refer to the product label for application instructions.

Lawn Mix Rates: 3.4 - 7ml (0.1 to 0.2 fl oz) per 1,000 square feet / 5-10 fl per acre

Ornamental Rates: 0.4 - 1.3ml (1.5 to 5fl oz) used in 25 gallons of water.

For spot treatments, use 0.5 fl oz Demand CS Insecticide per 1–2 1/2 gal of water.

Since water is acting as the carrier, each treatment and the amount of water that will be used is specific to the individual treatment. Please take a moment to review our How to use the Chapin Wet or Dry Hose End Sprayer Video for tips on how to set the dial for this sprayer.

    Q
How do I kill grasshoppers and not bees and butterflies and my outside cats?
I use the nolo bait in most of my yard and I have chickens to get the stragglers. but I have part of my yard fenced off to keep the chickens out of my flowers and it is being over run by adult grasshoppers. I do the catch and kill every nite, but not enough as it sounds like bb's hitting the house when I walk around it. I have outside kitties and butterflys and bees that I don't want to harm what would you suggest? I need help fast. I have open fields on all 4 sides of me so it is a neverending battle
    A

If it's the area that's fenced off, you can spray Demand CS around the yard and flowers but avoid the blooms or areas where bees and butterflies land so it won't be harmful to them.

  • Asked by Katherine from Lithia, Fl
    06/28/2017
    Q
If Demand CS is left outside for an extended period of time, is the product still going to be effective?
    A

Generally speaking, all insecticides need to be kept at room temperature area to prolong shelf life.  You don't want to expose any insecticide to direct sunlight, high heat or freezing temperatures, as this could break the product down, and it will lose effectiveness.  If your bottle of  Demand CS was left outside for a week, there is a good chance it could be ok, depending on what the temperatures were that week.  If the product isn't seperated at all or clumpy and mixes well with water, then it should still be fine to use, but it may not have the residual that it had before these conditions.

    Q
If my mattress and furniture have been sprayed with Demand CS, what concerns should I have?
I was told by a bug expert to spray my mattress. I did so with just the bed bug cover - all bedding was removed. Is it safe for me to sleep on?
    A

No, Demand CS is NOT labeled for applications to mattresses and you should not sleep on it directly now for your safety. If the cover was the only thing treated, we recommend applying a new encasement, new sheets/blankets.

  • Asked by Thomas from Phoenix. Arizona

    Q
    Will Demand CS kill honeybees?
    A

Demand CS is not a selective insecticide and it will kill most insects that come into contact with the treated area, including bees.  Depending on what you are treating for, you may be able to use a product like Mavrik Perimeter for outdoor pests, which is non-repellent and non-toxic to honeybees after it has dried. You will want to read the product label to see if this fits your needs.
