Demon WP Insecticide - Questions & Answers

Demon WP is not a problem to use around pets as long as you apply it according to the product label. Once Demon WP is mixed with water, it is only strong enough to kill small insects. You would not want to leave the jar of Demon WP open where dogs could get into a large quantity of it. It is always a good idea to keep pets and children out of the area while you are treating. Once the product dries, usually after 30 minutes, it is perfectly fine to allow pets and children back in the area. However, all pesticides are very dangerous to fish and aquatic life. You would not want to use Demon WP or any other pesticide near a body of water. 50 yards away is a good distance, but if the land sloped down towards the pond, then there may be a concern. If it does not, it should not be a problem to treat around your home that is 50 yards away from the pond.

Yes, Demon WP is one of the most effective insecticides on the market today and is labeled for almost all insects.  The "WP" part in Demon WP stands for wettable powder, and wettable powders are what you want to use with spiders.  Not only is this product very effective but it is still safe to use inside or outside and also safe if children or pets are present.  Place a good, wide, barrier around the perimiter of your home and you will see a huge difference in the number of all insects you see around the home.

No, Demon WP will not plug up your sprayer, at least initially.  You definitely have to mix wettable powders very well before applying it.  You should fill the sprayer half way with water, scoop in the proper amount of product or drop in the Demon WP envelope, place the top on the sprayer and shake vigorously, then remove the top and fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water.  The sprayer should work fine but you should only mix what you plan on using that day.  Wettable powders will clog a sprayer when the solution is left in the sprayer overnight or for a long period of time.  The powder will settle, become clumpy at the bottom of the sprayer, and will clog the sprayer when you try to re-use it.  So only mix what you are going to use right then and you should have no problems.

That is a hard question to answer because both work very well.  However, we do sell the Demon WP in our Roach Control Kits and it does work a little faster and provides a punch for quick knock down.  Sprays alone usually do not work.  You should use this along with a Roach Bait so the roaches have something to take back in the walls and other hiding places that you do can not spray.  Our Roach Control Kits have a very high success rate and incorporates sprays and baits.

The 1lb Jar of Demon WP makes over 30 gallons of finished solution so it will last a long time.  However, you will need more than just one product to really start seeing results.  You should purchase our Roach Control Kit #2.  It comes with a couple other products including Demon WP and when used together they can really put a dent in your roach problem.

Demon WP is labeled for both indoor and outdoor use. Apply Demon WP to exterior door frames, window frames, places where utilities (cables pipes and wires) enter into the structure, eaves, soffits, around the bottom of the foundation and out onto the ground several feet. If you have an existing insect infestation, you may also need to spray indoors around the door frames, window frames, places where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter into the structure and around the baseboards. Demon WP will last for about 4 weeks outdoors and about 12 weeks indoors.

Demon WP is not labeled to treat for bed bugs, therefore we cannot recommend using it.  What we do recommend is our Bed Bug Kits.  They have a very high success rate and have all of the same professional products that a company would use if you hired one.  Our kits also come with full instructions on how to apply the products in the kit. Demon WP is a great choice for spider control. Demon WP is a wettable powder that is diluted in water, and then sprayed around door frames, window frames, in areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into a structure, around the bottom of the foundation and other area where insects are known to harbor.  Demon WP can leave a white powdery residue on dark surfaces. If the powdery residue is a concern, you can choose a micro-encapsulated product such as Onslaught Fast Cap Spider and Scorpion.

Many households are having problems with the asian lady beetle (lady bugs) and stink bugs and it sounds like you may have one of these insects invading your area as well. We offer several insecticides to stop these pests in their tracks outdoors. Demon WP works well to control these insects. Be sure to spray eaves, soffits, window frames, door frames, areas where cables, pipes or wires enter into the structure and any other crack, crevice or gap where insects can harbor. As for the insects that are already indoors, we recommend that you vacuum them up as you see them.

Yes.  Demon WP is our best seller for scorpions.  Since it is a wettable powder it is easy for the scorpions to pick the product up on their bodies.  We also sell scorpion uv flashlights that can aid in detection when looking for scorpions. 

Stinkbugs can be eliminated with Demon WP. In fact, we offer Demon WP in our stinkbug/overwintering kit because it is so effective. Stinkbugs are not listed on the label of most insecticides yet because they have only started becoming a problem for homeowners and property owners in recent years. Be sure to spray eaves, soffits, window frames, door frames, areas where cables, pipes or wires enter into the structure and any other crack, crevice or gap where insects can harbor. Stinkbugs that are indoors should be vacuumed up. It is also important to seal any holes, cracks, crevices or gaps where the stinkbugs are gaining entry.

Demon WP will kill carpenter bees that land on treated surfaces or try to bore into treated surfaces and while it is known to be some what repellent it will not necessarily repel them from the area.

For effective control you should reapply Demon WP every 4 weeks through the carpenter bee season. Usually carpenter bees come twice a year, once in the spring and then again in early fall.

Demon WP can be mixed at a rate of one level scoop per gallon of water, or two level scoops per gallon of water.  Most pest problems require only one scoop per gallon.  If you are treating for bees, wasps, scorpions, roaches, or carpenter ants you would use two scoops per gallon. 

Each Demon WP envelope comes with 4 water soluble packets, enough to make up to 4 gallons of diluted solution. Most homeowners use 1 gallon of diluted solution or less indoors and about 2 gallons outdoors per application . Depending on the insect you are trying to eliminate, you can spray once every 1-3 months. Please read the Demon WP product label to learn specific usage rates for the insect you are trying to eliminate.

Demon WP would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. The active ingredient in Demon WP is cypermethrin, which is known to be one of the top choices for spider control. Spraying Demon WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in.

Demon WP is safe to use around children and pets when mixed and used correctly.  With most professional products such as Demon WP, once you mix it with water it is only strong enough to kill small insects.  You should always keep children and pets away from where you are treating.  Once the product has time to dry which usually only takes 30 minutes, it is safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.  Of course you should always keep any pesticide or cleaning product out of reach of children. 

Typically you would want to apply 1 gallon per 1000 square feet of yard.  Each gallon would have one scoop of demon.  So, if your yard was 2000 square feet, you would place two scoops of Demon in the hose end sprayer, then fill the hose end sprayer to the 2 gallon mark with water.  This should apply one scoop per gallon of water over 1000 square feet. 

Demon WP is great for all insects, including spiders.  It will do a great job for wolf spiders as well as all other insect control.  You should apply Demon WP once a month for maximum effectiveness.
