    Q
We have a dog that loves to eat grass. Is Dismiss safe for dogs to eat after it dries?
I read that it's safe for pets after it dries but Is it safe for them to eat. Our dog is a grass eater. How long should we keep him out of the treated area if its not safe to eat?
    A

Yes, Dismiss Turf is safe for dogs after the treated area has dried. This may be anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on weather conditions like temperature and how much sunlight the treatment area receives. We recommend that you avoid areas where pets may spend the most time if you are concerned about contact or ingestion in those areas.

    Q
How far away from my raised garden beds should I stay when applying Dismiss Turf Herbicide?
    A

As long as you keep any applications of the Dismiss Turf Herbicide from reaching the roots of the plants in the garden beds, and prevent any over spray on the foliage as you treat, they will be safe.

    Q
What is the best method to use to apply Dismiss, a gallon sprayer or a garden hose attachment
Answers to similar questions is mainly regarding the mixture per gallon. I want to know best way to apply is with a separate gallon sprayer or an attachment that goes on the garden hose.
    A

Dismiss Turf Herbicide should be applied as directed on the label with a sprayer. The hose attachments are not as accurate and could be difficult with this product to calibrate properly. The label gives the rate of product per area. It is recommended to mark off a 1,000 sq ft ( 100 ft X 10 ft) and apply water to the area to determine the volume of water that you will add the product to for application.

    Q
I just mowed my St. Augustine grass and I have Dismiss on hand, can I treat now/should I wait?
    A

You should delay your application of Dismiss Turf Herbicide or other herbicide until at least 2-3 days after you mow. This will help your turfgrass to recover from the stress of mowing as well as allow time for some new growth on the target weeds so there is more foliage to absorb the herbicide.

    Q
How long before I can overseed my lawn after applying Dismiss Turf Herbicide?
    A

Per the product label for Dismiss Turf Herbicide: Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. Overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass at two (2) to four (4) weeks after an application can be done if slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated.

    Q
Will Dismiss Turf Herbicide harm or be absorbed by an orange tree that is adjacent to the lawn I am treating? Is this safe to use with the orange tree that close the lawn area?
    A

The application of Dismiss Turf Herbicide will need to stay outside of the drip line of any fruit trees or any edibles to avoid uptake by the tree roots.

For weeds under the canopy or within the drip line of fruit trees, it s recommended to spot treat the weeds directly with Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate as this is a non selective herbicide.

    Q
Is the Dismiss Turf Herbicide designed for southern lawns?
I live in Jacksonville FL. The lot is small (125'x50'), and has St. Augustine grass with typical broad leaf and grass weeds, including the pesky NUTSEDGE. Atrazine works well but nutsedge is a problem.
    A

Dismiss Turf Herbicide is formulated for cool and warm season turf as directed on the product label.  It is safe to use on St Augustine.

    Q
Does Dismiss Turf Herbicide harm Dymondia?
Have a spurge infestation in Dymondia lawn. Can I treat with Dymondia to kill spurge?
    A
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is not labeled for ornamental plants so we would not recommend using it in your Dymondia lawn.Unfortunately, we do not have a selective herbicide that would kill weeds such as clover and oxalis without also injuring the dymondia. You would need to hand pull or spot treat carefully using a non-selective herbicide such as Hi-Yield Killzall Quik RTU
