Demize Nylar IGR and IGR's in general are very safe around children and pets because they only effect small insects that go through a complete metamorphasis like fleas and roaches. You should always keep pets and children out of the area while you are treating and then allow them to re-enter once the product has dried which usually takes about 30 minutes. Nylar IGR terminates the flea life cycle and stops the development of the immature stages of the flea for 210 days preventing them from reaching the biting adult stage. It does not contain an insecticide and does not kill anything directly.
