The Giant Destroyer Smoke Bomb/Gasser does not produce sparks however the minium burn time after lighting the fuse is 5 seconds. You will insert the gasser into the burrow (fuse-end first) and immediately cover with dirt. As long as the burrow opening is not under the deck or covered completely by the deck, this should be fine. The product label states, Do not use under buildings, homes, porches or any structure due to possible fire hazard.
