Although carpet moths aren't listed on the product label for Steri-Fab Insecticide, it will kill any insect on contact until the product dries, but won't leave any residual.  We cannot guarantee the application won't stain your oriental rug, so you may want to do a spot test in an inconspicuous area before applying to a larger area.  We would recommend reading our article on How to Get Rid of Clothes Moths for treatment steps and product recommendations to eliminate your moth problem.
