I purchased bait stations and placed several outside in the evening. In the morning, a few of them were several inches away from where I placed them, opened up, bait gone. Are squirrels or other animals eating the bait? I am going to try gluing the trap shut but wonder what is going to show up dead on my doorstep. 1 Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel tube(s) $22.50 $22.50 1 Advance Carpenter Ant Bait bottle (8 oz.) $26.90 $26.90 1 Bait Plate Stations pack(s) of 12 stations $9.48 $9.48
Raccoons are the likely culprit. Raccoons commonly enter bait stations for ants, roaches, and rodents. The baits will not kill these mammals. You can broadcast spread the granules to help eliminate the racoons from eating the bait.
