Leafcutter ants

I need something that'll kill them all it did was make a move to another place I think
Expert response:
Dominion is not recommended for this type of ant. Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites, Maxforce Complete Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. DeltaGard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.

combating Ants
By Dave on 10/26/2012
I was fed up with pesticides for ants I purchased at home improvement stores which didn't work as they said. A friend of mine told me about Do My Own Pest Control.com. I went online looked at the products, read there recommended uses and purchased Dominion 2L Termiticide. I used it around my home, and the ants are gone. Thank you for your help in getting rid of my ant problem.
Seal Team in a bottle
By Gary on 06/23/2011
For years we have fought the battle against Argentine ants. Tried everything there was to try. Tired of just feeding the ants, so it seemed, spent a lot of money last year on Ant Gourmet bait and the stations. Found with the heat of summer, all that stuff did was to dry out leaving me with a bunch of hungry ants. Learning about Dominion, thought it a new way to approach our problem. To sum it up, this is like having your own Seal Team 6 in a bottle. At last, after spending both time and money to get rid of our guest, we are now free of ants. Don't let the price bother you. Less than a half ounce per gallon of water is all you need. At least for us anyway. Since it takes a little to make a lot, it is really very cheap. RIP ants!

Works great on ants!!!!
By Ray on 07/31/2014
I've been having a problem with ants were I have my horses. They range from carpenter to fire ants and there were hundreds of them. I sprayed this stuff on them and around their ant piles. By the next morning I saw several(50-100) dead around their piles. I didn't see any activity or didn't find that they relocated to a new location. This stuff works and a little goes a long way.
So far so good

Dominion Termicide
By Greg on 10/08/2014
Killed the Carpenter ants that were present after a few minutes. I do not know if the infected ants were able to make it back to the "nest". The weather changed and the masses of ants that were present, disappeared before I could use the Advance bait or the Dominion . I applied both when the ants were at minimal activity. School is still out on this one.

Carpenter Ants are history!
By Lynnell on 06/21/2013
Was paying professional exterminator $150 per treatment to get rid of the infestation. This is a great product and I purchased it relying on reviews written by others who have purchased it. It was also a comparable replacement for Termidor, which is a little pricey.

Very Effective for Termites
By Randy on 08/31/2017
I used this as a treatment for termites and carpenter ants followed the instructions as given, even went the distance under the crawl space and around the pillars underneath as well....it really worked for the termites for the following 3 years or so....my displeasure came when the ants continue to dwell heavily, the claim of ridding ants (carpenter) seem to be bogus...

Customer service is everything
By Rj on 07/21/2014
I made a mistake with my shipping and billing address. One phone call to customer service, and it was taking care of. Amazing, that effort was greatly appreciated. So far, the dominion insecticide is working well to eliminate red ants, fire ants the nasty ants. I highly recommend do my own pest control company
Useless
By Veronica on 08/13/2017
I used the product a couple years ago, I guess I forgot why I stopped using it :) so I re-ordered it. As bad as before, call-backs exactly 1 week after application. Used normal then heavy dose, weather was perfect...no difference, absolutely no effect on ants. Don't waste your money, This product is pure garbage but in its defense most insecticides nowadays seem to be pure garbage...I guess to protect themselves from lawsuits insecticide producers are turning out watered down product. If you have ants use ant bait found at your local home improvement stores and keep floors spotless, you will have more success than using "professional" products.

Ants in the electric box
By Doug on 11/24/2012
In this area we have trouble with ants building nests in exterior electric boxes (like the one for the pool pump). The plugs are mounted on 4"x4" posts in water-tight boxes that have plastic conduits penetrating 6" to 10" into the ground. The ants access the box from underground by following the direct-burial electric cable up the inside of the conduit. Using a Dominion 2L soil drench right around the open end of the conduit has stopped the ants from entering the boxes.

Dominion 2L - on carpenter ants
By Jeff on 09/18/2011
I have a shed on remote property in the mountains which I visit every two months or so. On one visit, the shed, built on a wooden platform, was infested with ants. From research on the internet I determined by their behavior that they were carpenter ants. Insecticides from home improvement stores killed the ones I could see, but later, millions more attended the funeral service. A good band treatment in a 2 foot (or so) wide band from a 2 gallon plastic watering can around the shed with Dominion 2L and no more ants in the shed. I've since treated around some of the pinion pine trees where they still frequent. I'll find out on my next trip in October '11 if it did as well there. When you mix the concentrate, be sure to wear rubber gloves as it can be absorbed through your skin if it splashes on you. The concentrate, which resembles whipping cream, requires very thorough mixing or you'll end up with concentrated product pouring on the ground when you get down to the last few ounces.

Dominion 2L - on Carpenter Ants
By Jeff on 05/01/2012
This is a follow-up from a review that I posted on Sep 18 of last year. A later visit to the remote property after treating around pinion pines for carpenter ants with Dominion 2L. The treatment effectively destroyed the infestation in the shed. Next it was time for treatment around the pinion pine trees. Treated around 4 of them and returned about six weeks later to find no carpenter ants near them. Then it was on to a large Juniper tree which contained a well established main colony. Treated around it, then returned this spring to find only a few carpenter ants living at the base where there were swarms before. I fed them some MAxForce gel injected into the crevasses of the tree. Long battle, large well established colonies but I believe I've won. I'll know by the end of May '12. Thanks DoMyOwn Pest Control. I never would have had a prayer with those home improvement store pesticides. The ants will not be reinfesting the shed any time soon (they destroyed about $450 bucks' worth of camping gear). Now I'm using Dominion 2L around any newly placed wooden fence posts because I lost two of them to termites. Very useful product.
So far, pretty good!
By Jeffrey on 06/09/2015
Hoping I don't ever see termite problems. If I don't, it may very well be thanks to this treatment. Used a little with some cat food and let the wasps feed on it. I've seen many dead wasps and a lot fewer flying around. I had 2 huge ant colonies out back, treated them and let it rain on the workers carrying food into the hills. A few days later, no ants.

carpentar ant control
By Joe on 06/19/2012
The main goal for purchasing this product was for carpentar ants but any other nuisance pests affected would of been a bonus.. Roughly 3 weeks later ive seen few ants the numbers appear to have been reduced. I wouldnt expect total elimination, even from a nuclear blast. But overall it seems to have controlled the numbers.
