    Can I use Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer for crabgrass in my St. Augustine?
    A

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide is not labeled for use on St. Augustine grass. It will kill your lawn. We would recommend using Blindside Herbicide WDG. It is safe for use in St. Augustine grass and will eliminate actively growing crabgrass. You will use 0.15 - 0.23 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.

    Can Drive XLR8 be applied if there is no rain forecast for at least 7 days?
    It's been about a week and a half since we've had a 10th of an inch of rain. The temps are right to spray this product, but with dry ground and no rain forecasted for atleast 7-10 days is it safe to spray?

    Yes, it is safe to spray Drive XLR8 Herbicide when there is no forcasted rain within 24 hours.

    Can Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer be used in a hose-end sprayer?

    When applying herbicides, including Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer, it is not recommended to use a hose-end sprayer. It is better to use a hand pump or backpack sprayer to ensure the most accurate application.

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide should be applied 24 hours after it has rained and when there is no rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours in the future.

    How many days before you see results after spraying Drive XLR8 Herbicide?
    A

    Drive XLR8 is a post-emergent herbicide that takes about 10-14 days to start seeing results on the target plants. Keep in mind that this is best used on listed weeds when they are young and actively growing, which will usually be in spring and fall.

    What herbicide kills crabgrass without killing St. Augustine?
    I have a mixture of grass and weeds in my back yard, and good St. Augustine grass in front yard. I want something that kills crabgrass, plus other weeds, without harm to St. Augustine grass.

    Drive XLR8 is NOT for use in a St. Augustine lawn. Blindside Herbicide WDG is labeled for crabgrass, as well as many other weeds, and is safe to be used on St. Augustine.

    Once applied how long will Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer last?
    Will this be as good as bear foot Ureabor

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is a post emergent herbicide only, this means it only kills only those list weeds listed on the product label that are directly sprayed and actively growing.  There will be no residual to continue killing or prevent anything new from growing.  We do not carr a product called bear foot Ureabor so cannot comment on it, we do apologize.

    It wasn't suppose to rain but it did right after I sprayed Drive, do I need to reapply?
    A

    According to the product label for Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer you want to avoid rainfall or irrigation for about 24 hours after the applications. Since rainfall occurred right after the application the efficacy could be impacted so you may need to reapply.

    Is there a maximum yearly application of Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer?
    The label does not provide a maximum yearly application. Is is automatically limited to 2 in order to avoid turf damage? Can this be mixed with Gordons Trimec?

    Per the manufacturer's product label for Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer:

    DO NOT apply more than 128 fluid ounces of Drive XLR8 per acre (or 2 .9 fluid ounces per 1000 square feet) in one year (1 .5 lbs ae per acre per year).
    DO NOT apply more than 64 fluid ounces of Drive XLR8 per acre (or 1 .45 fluid ounces per 1000 square feet) in a single application (0 .75 lb ae per acre per application).

    You could possibly tank mix the products but you will need to conduct a small jar test by mixing small portions of the products in a jar with water to be sure they mix well.

    Can you use Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer to treat broadleaf weeds and ground ivy? If so, how many ounces per gallon would I need.

    Yes Drive XLR8 Herbicide controls many broadleaf weeds such as clover, dandelion, foxtail, wild violet and many others.  Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is not labeled to treat creeping charlie. Tenacity is labeled to control Ground Ivy "Creeping Charlie" as post emergent control. Please see the product label for a full list of weeds controlled.

    What is the mix rate for Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer with the Methylated Seed Oil Surfactant in a 4 gallon sprayer to broadcast over my entire lawn?

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide is used at 1.45 oz per 1000 sq/ft in typically 1 gallon of water, and you would use 2-3 teaspoons of your crop oil surfactant per gallon of water.

    Will Drive XLR8 kill creeping Charlie?

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is not labeled to control or suppress creeping charlie. Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is labeled for creeping charlie (ground ivy) on Cool and Warm Season turfgrasses (except Floratam or Bitterblue varieties of St. Augustinegrass in Florida) You can view the product label HERE.

    ok... shelf life is 3 years; got that... why don't manufacturers put a USEFUL date on their product..?? Is there a place that will give manufactured date from the product code on the bottle??

    Yes, that is correct Drive XLR8 has a shelf life of 3-5 years. If you need to know the manufacturing date you may contact the manufacturer BASF by calling 1-800-526-1072.  They will need the lot/batch # on the bottle to pull up the manufactured date.
