    Q
I have crabgrass. I am in the Texas panhandle and the temperature is in the 90's can I still apply Drive?
    A
When applying Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer you want to make sure the temp is not below 55 degrees and not above 80 degress.  You can try applying early in the morning or later in the evening when the temps could be below that for better results.  Weeds that are heat stressed during the day with not absorb the product well so you would not get good results.

    Q
Does Drive XLR8 kill by root or leaf ingestion?
    A
Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is taken up through the leaf of the plant and translocated to the root. This is why Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is such a great crabgrass killer and we recommend using a Surfactant to help the product to stick and penetrate through to the Zylem of the weed.

    Q
I planted Riviera seed 4 weeks ago. The Riviera has germinated but so has the crabgrass...bigtime! Is it safe to apply DRIVE to the Riviera sprouts at this time to control the crabgrass this early?
The crabgrass is really thickening up and I'm worried about it choking out the new Riviera grass.
    A
Drive XLR8 can be applied to Bermuda grass before seeding, after seeding and 7-28 days after it emerges per the product label. Please refer to Table 1 & 4 on the label for more information.

    Q
Is there a mixing chart for Drive XLR8?
    A
The first thing you need to know when using an herbicide such as Drive XLR8 Herbicide is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results. You will need to use 1.45 oz per 1,000 sq ft . To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area, and that is the amount you will want to mix 1.45 oz of product with for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated. You will need to make sure treated areas are irrigated with at least 1/2 inch of water (either by rainfall or by sprinkler) following the application.

    Q
Can I use this in my vegetable garden before planting? If so how long wait before planting?
    A
The Drive XLR8 is not labeled for use in any area where edibles plan to be grown. We do carry the Monterey Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder for pre-emergent control of weeds before planting. You can use either a roundup type product to spot treat anything that has already come up, or if you have just weedy grasses coming up you can use something like Fertilome Over the Top II.

How much Drive XLR8 would I need to treat 8 acres?

    A
If you were wanting to use the drive for crabgrass and other broad leaf post emergent weed control across the entire 8-10 acres as a broadcast spray, you would need roughly 4 half gallons of the product. The first thing you need to know when using an herbicide such as Drive XLR8 Herbicide is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Q
I put down a weed and feed back in March, but weeds are still there but slowly dying.
Would it be smart to re-apply the weed and feed or simply go with a fertilizer?
    A
To reapply, all depends on what region you are located in and what you are treating for. If you still see weeds coming up, we may recommend using Drive XLR8 Please review the product label to see if this product will treat your specific weeds and not harm your lawn.

    Q
Drive to Kill St. Augintine and Torpedo Grass
I plan on replacing St. Augustine with Zoysia in the spring. Would it be more efficient to use Drive XLR now to kill everything instead of using RoundUp Pro Max?
    A
You may fair better with using the Roundup or any other Glyphosate product like it if you plan to take it to bare ground to reseed anyways. If there are more weeds and weedy grasses like crabgrass than actual lawn that would ensure you got all of the problem plants. Whereas using the Drive will eliminate many problem weeds/grasses however may not eliminate all of the ones in your lawn if they aren't all on the product label.
