This crabgrass killer seems to be effective. It kiiled the crabgrass I applied it to, but some "crabgrass" is still living. It is possible that grass isn't crabgrass. I recently applied it again to those questionable grasses. Those areas are slowly changing color so that grass may be dying... I hope! Generally, I am satisfied with this product.

Drive XLR8 killed the crabgrass quick. We didn't add surfactant. I just ordered some and will spray the wild violets again. They curled up but didn't completely die but I believe that's our fault.

I live in western PA. 2024 spring was wet and I did not get pre-emergence spread; therefore by end of June crab was appearing. We had a terrible hot spell and dry, the crab just kept maturing. Until spray conditions and temperature were within guidelines the crab had matured to the point of the tillers producing seed. Mixed 6 (3 gallon) tanks per directions (without 2,4,D) and went on the attack. There were drifts of crab all over the yard. I sprayed on August 7, marked my calendar, and walked the yard August 22. It's gone! This is a crabgrass KILLER!

Starting in early Summer, I had crabgrass slowly overtaking my yard. It was choking out and killing all of my good grass. After trying a variety of tactics and products I found XLR8. It worked fantastic. I sprayed our entire yard (about 1 acre of grass). It targeted ONLY the cragrass, all good grass was untouched and has continued to flourish. The label says to not apply more than 1 gallon per acre per season, which is the equivalent of what I did. I think this is more of a rule-of-thumb than a true rule. The label does not know how much crabgrass you're dealing with. In my case, I had massive sections of nothing but crabgrass- in that case, you can put it on thick, in my opinion. I certainly had some areas where I went thicker than others and the surrounding grass is just fine. Now that I have the majority of it taken care of, I can easily spot spray where needed. For those interested, you will see results in about 2-3 days. it starts by yellowing (2-3 days), then orange (3-10 days), then brown (10-20 days), then shrivels up (20+). The growth stops immediately though, which is great. It actually works best when the crabgrass is more isolated (like along roadway gravel) and dense (patches of it die quickly). The crabgrass that is more integrated with the rest of the lawn takes slightly longer but ultimately succumbs to the same fate. :) I also, I used "Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides Gallon" which did a great job of binding. It recommends a seed oil, but in my opinion this was not necessary and just costs more.

We have about 40 acres of land - 5 of grass and 35 of woods. I'm a "grass" guy and my wife is a "tree & flower" gal. I regularly use granular & liquid chemicals & fertilizers on the grass as I like a nice lawn. All my grass areas are irrigated. My historic "go-to" for weed control is Weed-B-Gone however, it's been a losing battle against the aggressive crabgrass. In talking with my wife's Botanists and Arborists, they turned me on to DRIVE XLR8. Amazon wouldn't deliver it in my location so I went on the web and found it at DoMyOwn. They quickly shipped out the product along with (needed) MSO Surfactant. I applied at a rate of 1.5 oz of DRIVE and 1/2 oz MSO per gallon of water per 1,000 SF using a 26-gallon electric tank broadcast sprayer off a golf cart. The results were amazing. This stuff WORKS! The crabgrass is gone and now I'm happily reseeding. I highly recommend DRIVE and DoMyOwn.

I love you, Drive XLR8. This stuff works wonders! My sea of crabgrass is no more. I wish you came in a pelletized version for easier, faster application, but this stuff delivers great results.

Ordering was easy shipping was prompt the product worked excellent. After 2 days started to show it was working then after a week the crab grass was dead.

i have a 15 gallon pull behind sprayer... i used 2oz per gallon of the drive xlr8 and 1/2 oz per gallon of prime source duo stick select.this stuff killed every piece of crabgrass it landed on. everything turned brown in about 10 days it killed everything but the wild Strawberrys. very happy with this

Purchased a piece of property that had been vacant for a long time. The crabgrass was was fully matured and Drive totally destroyed it!! Mostly in one app as well! Awesome stuff!

I have looked for years, trying many different brands and this is the only thing I have found that will kill the crabgrass in my yard. At first I didn't think this was going to work either but it just takes longer than most weed/grass killers. But it killed it all!

I literally hate crabgrass, and have never found anything that would kill it. This stuff really did the job, and I wonder what my yard will look like next year. Will grass come up and fill in? Time will tell, but the crabgrass certainly looks defeated now!

Applied XLR8 on mature crabgrass, 3 days later it started dying. Works great on post emergent crabgrass. Highly recommended.

The product is excellent, especially if you follow the instructions correctly. It's so good that the grass and weeds died in 3 days. Read carefully; it's not good if your lawn is St. Augustine. The problem is that I only wanted to get rid of the crabgrass, but my entire lawn was affected.

I bought this to treat a bunch on weeds in my yard, including multiple broad leaf weeds. This killed the crab grass and all weeds, including clover and some other unidentified broad leaf weeds. Noticed change in 3 days and weeds were dead in a week!

My lawn was overrun with crabgrass. We moved in a year ago and it was sparse at the time, and had no time to treat. This spring, it was everywhere. So I ordered some Drive XLRB and treated it. I don't normally measure my herbicide before spraying, but I did this time. Following directions, I used about 10 gallons of spray over my 0.44 acres. The results were amazing. Crabgrass is gone. Great product.

Is working well on something in my yard which may or may not be grab grass. I can only use it on the areas with Bermuda grass underneath and are not using it where St. Augustine's is present as mentioned on the product.

This works great provided you follow the instructions and mix it properly. I have a gas line easement next to my property and I usually try to maintain it a bit to help manage the impact on my lawn and one spray took care of 90% of the weeks and it looks like a second treatment will be needed but that was expected given how overgrown it was.

With weed killer you buy at your local stores it's usually hit or miss, mostly miss especially when it comes to crabgrass. Add that it is established crabgrass then there is nothing sold in stores that work, believe me I have tried them all. I have 3 acres and this summer since May it has been nothing but downpours, high humidity and temps mostly in the nineties, so the weeds took over, especially crabgrass. Read about DoMyOwn, search the website and thought I give Drive XLR8 a try. Using a handheld pump sprayer, measured everything just right, I began spraying 1000 sq ft per gallon. Within 4 days the crabgrass began browning up, after about 10 days, 75% was dead. Very happy with results in Ohio, and in a couple of weeks will re-apply. Great price and will buy again.

This stuff works wonders. I used to use the Roundup for Lawns and got so so results. One application of this stuff killed every single crabgrass plant in my lawn. Next time I will pair with 24D to help kill broadleaf weeds because I dont' think this killed anything but the crabgrass.
