Drywood Termites on Cape Cod?

I live on Cape Cod and have what I thought were carpenter ants in the basement in a joist under my fireplace. I sprayed with a carpenter ant and termite spray from a local hardware store (brand name Bonide) which seemed to work, but I still find a few wandering around. On closer inspection they seem to fit the description exactly for drywood termites. Their habitat is supposed to be southern coastal. Could they be drywood termites on Cape Cod? I bought a carpenter ant kit from you. Will it work on termites, if in fact they are termites?

Answer:

There could be drywood termites in your area, but we really want a 100% positive ID. Most folks have an Exterminating come out and investigate no charge. You can also try to email us a clear picture for an ID. This is important because, there are different treatment methods.
