According to the manufacturer, you can use the Earthway 2150 Commercial Broadcast Spreader for ice melt as well as fertilizer and seed. They stated when using it for ice melt, they recommend removing the agitator pin in the bottom of the hopper, and to thoroughly rinse and clean the unit before using another product in it, since the salt in the melts often can burn grass if the residue is left to build up on the unit.
