Empero Q-Pak Herbicide is a post emergent to treat actively growing weeds. Typically, post emergents are best applied when temperatures are between 65 and 85 degrees. For the most accurate timing to treat specific weeds in your area, we recommend contacting the Master Gardener with the County Cooperative Extension Office for their recommendation.
Herbcides like Empero Q-Pak Herbicide and Celsius work best when applied to dry turf and when no rain is expected for 48 hours. A slight amount of dew is okay but it should not be dripping wet/over saturated.
Empero Q-Pak Herbicide often works with 1 application, but depending on the size and age of the nutsedge a second treatment may be required 6 - 10 weeks after the initial treatment. Herbicide symptoms are likely to show within 2 weeks as a necrotic ring at the base of the plant, even though the leaves and stems remain green and a deep leathery green in color.
