Works
By Justin on 09/01/2018
I get bad reactions to fire ant bites and I've been searching for something to clear my yards of them. I've tried almost all the big box stores stuff. My kid got bit this summer and I decided to get the good stuff. It works really well. I sprinkled some on the mound and they went crazy and carried the granules into the mound. Problem solved, no more ants

Most effective ant killer
By Lisa on 10/26/2018
We live in the South. We bought a house with an extreme amount of fire ants and I bought this to treat them. The ants immediately started taking this into the mounds and continued until it was gone. I now have inactive mounds. I'm going to treat another area of our land in the spring. I was happy that it was safe to apply near animals.

Amazing Results!
By Brad on 06/27/2019
My red ant problem was starting to get out of hand. I had a lot of ant hills around my property and they were getting more numerous and closer to my house. I was spraying the hills with Bifen XTS which basically resulted in the ants moving a few feet away and forming a new hill. I had also tried another granule bait I purchased from Lowe's which didn't appear to work well either. So I tried Extinguish and was shocked by the results. The instructions stated to place a potato chip near one of the hills to make sure the ants were feeding which mine were. I spread the granules with a hand help rotary spreader, which I use for fertilizing my lawn, set on the lowest setting which did a decent job. I walked back through the area I had just spread the bait and the ants were already carrying the granules back to the hills so obviously they were very attracted to it. I checked back about a week later and there is zero activity around the hills and no new hills formed. What I had tried unsuccessfully to do for a couple of years with spray and other bait was accomplished with one application of Extinguish! I am very pleased with the results.

Efficacy of Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait
By John on 08/02/2019
The Extinguish fire ant bait is very attractive to the fire ants, they readily pick it up in their foraging. If they pick it up, that's most of the game. I don't believe they make sidewalks or snow cones with it down in their mounds. It takes awhile for the poison to be effective, but that's all to the good; it will allow a larger dispersal. If, as it is believed, there are multiple queen, "super mounds", this should allow it to be even more advantageous in the elimination of them.

This stuff is great. I had well over 40 mounds in my yard. I tried some ant bait that instructed you to pour it on the mound and activate with water. I spent a good 3 hours walking my yard trying to target individual mounds and splashing water from a 5 gallon bucket since my hose wouldn't reach my whole yard. Maybe I didn't do that correctly, maybe that particular product wasn't up to par. But I know that it had little to no effect on the ants in my yard. Every time I went out to cut my grass at least one fireant would bite my ankle leading to it doubling in size. I was aggravated and tired so I ordered extinguish plus as hopefully a last resort. So I will say the amount of bait your instructed to use is very small. I read that normal spreaders would put out too much product so I elected to walk around with the container it shipped in and shake it out like some seasoning. I spread over my whole yard, giving extra bait to the mounds that were clearly visible, and the 1.5 lbs took care of 95% of my yard. I ran out near the end, luckily the parts that were left are on the edge of my property, but I treated individual mounds with the little bit I had left. I waited patiently for 7 days before looking at the results, when I walked the yard I was very happy to see many mounds dried up, and when disturbed no ants emerged. Around the edge I still have mounds, but all areas that were treated per the instructions, broadcast evenly throughout the yard, were free and clear. I will definitely be getting more extinguish plus, and i love how easy it was to get good results.

Tired of ants ..
By Tim on 10/04/2019
Found DoMyOwn on line and was highly impressed with their line of products and complete information layout of such. I have sprayed a few times for ant control wich would limit activity for a while but always came back soon after. Thought I'd give Extinguish plus a try and it's been about 3 weeks now and it seems to be working well... The main thing with this bait is killing the egg cycle and thinning these ants out... we'll see. Will be dealing again with this company.. Thanks !!

Not fast but does work
By John on 02/11/2020
It will kill 100% in the treated area, but it will not be over night. I treated the front half of my property last spring. Did a broadcast over the area and spot treatment on known mounds. Saw most mounds dead in days but still has some survivors that would show after rains. Mid summer I realized I was not seeing any more mounds. Doing it again this year over all my cleared property and only doing broadcast to maintain.

Best Ever
By Cindy on 04/18/2020
This is the best fire ant treatment. Over the years I've tried everything on the market to kill those horrible fire ants. I didn't realize until my husband got stung on the wrist and red streaks started running up his arm that they can carry streptococcus! He had to take a Zip pack of antibiotics. This meant war. I ordered the Extinguish Plus and I'm impressed how this product works. Just a 1 or 2 tablespoon around the mound and in a few days the mound is empty of ants. What's even more fun is to locate their "pantry door" and put the granules close to it. They act like kids in a candy store. I love watching the little buggers grabbing these yellow chunks and running down the hole to feed their colony. The "pantry door" isn't always easy to find. It can be 15' away from the mound. The ants were even killing seedlings in my garden. I put a line around the perimeter of the beds last week and they're gone. Well worth the money considering some poisons (Acephate} stink to high heaven. Extinguish and Extinguish Plus have a pleasant odor that's barely detectable. I highly recommend this to everyone with those nasty creatures on their property.

I sprinkled a bit on and around a harvester ant pile and the next day, their were ant bodies all over around the opening. The second day they were all dead. I kicked the top off a fire ant nest and sprinkled a small amount on the nest. The next day, they were dead! This product works great. I highly recommend it for ant control.

This stuff is just fantastic! I place it in all my pastures and the next day the ants are gone. Plus they'll stay gone! I can't tell you what a relief this as I've inadvertently stepped in ant hills in the past. DoMyOwn quickly ships and has great customer service!

Mu sister got me to try this stuff thee or four years ago. The only knock is the price. Local farm stores get around $22.50 per 1.5, $60 for 4.5#. Not much better here but some. I shoulda waited for the other source to restock. That said, OA i'm a satisfied customer.

True Ant Control
By Jamie on 08/12/2020
I purchased this product after my pest guy suggested it. I was being overrun by fire ants on our property this year. I followed instruction to a tee including the potato chip test. I used a hand spreader set on the lowest setting and covered the entire acre with a brisk walk. This product eliminated more than half the ants and continues to stay steady. I will be purchasing this again in spring through domyown.com.
Magic In A Jug
By Mary on 09/28/2020
I was tired of products that I call "movers". Products that kill some fire ants and the others move 5 ft. over and start a new mound. So I called Clemson's Ag. Department looking for answers. My lawn is Centipede (turf grass), so I am always concerned when using any product on my lawn. I call Extinguish Plus magic in a jug, as it will take out a whole colony, including the queen (some mounds may have a dozen queens) in around 3 to 4 days. It does not kill ants like a pesticide, it works more like borax acid that we use in the house on those tiny little piss ants that somehow always finds their way into the house. It wreaks havoc within their digestive systems and gradually kills them from the inside out. I get better results if applied 24 hours or more before rain is expected. I have never treated my whole lawn, but I treat in areas where they tend to show up and spot treat as needed (colonies search for food, water, and cooler temperatures). I have a little over an acre and 4.5 lbs has lasted for over two years. Don't over apply, because you are wasting product. For the average mound, a hand full is too much. I have on occasion had to treat a mound twice. In those cases it was due to a deep depth of the mound or unexpected rain. You can control fire ants if you have the right products. Extinguish Plus is always in my arsenal and it is worth the price.
Fire Ants Be Gone
By Brooke on 10/23/2020
This is the one and only product I recommend for fire ants. It is expensive, but you will not be disappointed no matter how many or few you may have. They will take over do I say keep this on hand and any time you notice a mound take care of it. I also put this out over my yard in very small amounts to keep them from moving to another area once I notice. I cannot day enough wonderful things about this product! Also, it's safe for at animal they may eat it.
