    Can I mix Weed Free Zone with Accel spreader sticker in a hose end sprayer (undiluted)?
    A

    When mixing products together in a hose end sprayer you must use products that have the same dilution rates or separate applications would be recommended. Weed Free Zone may be used in a hose end sprayer as long as your sprayer has the proper dilution setting. However, we are unsure as to whether you may mix the Accel Spreader Sticker with the Weed Free Zone in the hose end sprayer because we do not know the mixing rate for the Accel.

    How do I mix Fertilome Weed Free Zone for bindweed?
    We lost the instructions.

    You will mix Fertilome Weed Free Zone at the rate of 1.5-2.0 oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq ft.  Please consult the product label to find the specific rate for your type of grass.

    What is the temperature range I can store Weed Free Zone?
    Do freezing temps or 90 degrees hurt the product?

    Weed Free Zone should be stored in an area that does not pose temperatures below freezing or over 90 degrees. If stored in a cool, dry area, the shelf life is 3-5 years.

    Does Fertilome Weed Free Zone work on all weeds, and does it harm plants?
    If you happen to spray it on yours plants, will they die too?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone should not be applied (and drift spray) to any ornamental plants, trees or shrubs because injury will occur. It can only be applied on turfgrasses.

    What will kill sandspur in Fescue?
    A
    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is not labeled for eradicating sandspur. You should apply Barricade as a pre-emergent (check with your Master Gardener at your local cooperative extension office for correct timing). Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer can be applied to established lawns for post emergent applicaton. Please refer to the product label for instructions on mixing and application.

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone on Bermuda grass?
    How will this affect my lawn which is rich in Bermuda grass? Is it designed to only kill broadleaf weeds and not grasses?

     Fertilome Weed Free Zone is safe to use on established Bermuda. It does not kill grasses that are labeled as tolerant.

    Can Southern AG Vantage Grass Killer be mixed with Fertilome Weed Free Zone for application purposes?
    I have a centipede lawn and they both work well I'm just curios to know if they can be combined and administered simultaneously. Thanks

    We would not recommend tank mixing Fertilome Weed Free Zone with Southern Ag Vantage Grass Killer. Fertilome Weed Free Zone does not have label instructions for tank mixing combinations and tank mixing Grass Killer with some postemergence broadleaf herbicides has shown some reduction or failure to control some grassy weeds that would otherwise be controlled.

    Is it safe to graze horses or cows immediately after use - if not what are the restrictions

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is not labeled for grazing areas. You can use Martins Clear Pasture in Grazing areas.

    Have gilmore 362 hose end sprayer. Fertilome weed free zone sates to use 2 oz per 1000 ft.
    What seting do I use?

    We apologize but we are not familiar with the Gilmore hose end sprayer that you have. That being said normally hose end sprayers are not recommended for use of herbicides as there is no way to accurately know when you have put down the correct amount of product over the correct amount of area with that unit. You can try setting it at 1oz per gallon and use 2 gallons per 1000 sq/ft.

    When to mow? Before or after application?
    I live in GA and have a centipede lawn. I haven't mowed yet but am wondering if I should apply this before or after I do. What is the time frame for waiting to apply or after applying?

    Normally when applying any type of herbicide you want to delay mowing at least 2-3 days before putting down the product, and then 2-3 days after as well to give the grass full time to absorb the application.

    Fertilome Weed Free zone would be a great choice for you.  Just be sure that it is labeled to treat the weeds are looking to kill.

    Applications of Fertilome Weed Free Zone may be done at any time during the day. However, to reduce risk of lawn injury, avoid spraying drought stressed lawns or when temperatures are above 90°F.

    Temperature to apply Weed Free Zone in South for Virginia Button Weed
    I applied it last year with temperature about 85 plus deg, it killed some areas of my lawn grass (St. Aug, Bermuda mix), What temperature to you recommend to apply it.

    With any post emergent like Fertilome Weed Free Zone you want to be sure to apply when temps are consecutively below 85 degrees.

    What is the setting for the Ortho Dial N Spray?
    I am trying to knock out ground ivy and wild onion in my Kentucky blue grass/fescue lawn in Vermont. After first attempt, the ground ivy rebounded and became worse. I think I used the wrong mix ratio (too weak) and just pissed it off.
    A
    Fertilome Weed Free Zone product label recommends mixing 0.75 - 1.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. For Ground Ivy we would recommend using the highest rate of 1.5 oz. per gallon of water. If the product instructions say to use 1.5 ounces per gallon of water, then the Ortho Dial N Spray should be set to the 1.5 oz mark if available. Broadcast (entire areas) applications or follow-up applications should be done at a 2-6 week interval which is recommended for more mature Weeds, for dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions.

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone will not haem Buffalo grass. Be sure to review the product label for application. You want to use .75-1.5 oz per 1000 sq feet.

    Can I use Fertilome Weed Free Zone in my strawberry patch to kill weeds/grass?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is not labeled to be used around strawberries. Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer can be used on and around strawberry plants but it can only be used once per season.

    My flower beds have virginia button weed. Will this product work?
    Concerned about damaging existing flowers and shrubs.

    Yes, the Fertilome Weed Free Zone will kill and and control Virginia Button weed, but be sure not to get any overspray on your flowers or any other desirables because it may kill the flowers.
