    How much Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer should I use per gallon of water?
    My label got messed up so I can't read it, and I couldn't find it on the label info at this site

    How much of the Fertilome weed-out lawn weed killer that you mix with water is dependant on what kind of grass you have.  For St. Augustine or Centipede grass, you mix 2 ounces in 1 gallon of water per 1000 square feet.  For Bermuda, Buffalo, or Bentgrass, you mix 3 ounces in 1 gallon of water per 1000 square feet.  For Bluegrass,Perennial Ryegrass, Zoysiagrass, or Fescue, you mix 4 ounces in 1 gallon of water per 1000 square feet.  You can find the full product label here.  The mixture rates are on page 6.

    When used as directed on the lawns and listed on the product label, Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec will not kill your lawn. It will only kill emerged broadleaf weeds.

    How long will the residual of Weed-Out Lawn herbicide with Trimec keep killing weeds?
    A
    Typically this product should kill and prevent weeds for 1 season, about 3 to 4 months.  This product will work much better if you apply a pre-emergent first before weeds start to germinate in the early spring and late fall.

    How many days before I notice the weeds dying after applying Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec
    A
    You should notice that weeds are starting to yellow or die about two weeks after the application of Fertilome Weed Out. Spray at any time when weeds are growing. For best results, apply in Spring when weeds are small and growing rapidly. Apply in Fall to remove late germinating weeds.

    What is the difference between Fertilome Weed-Out and Fertilome Weed Free Zone?
    I've used the Weed Free Zone on my lawn in the past with good results. What's the difference between Weed Free Zone and the Weed Out? Specifically, does one do more weeds, is one safer for lawns, does one last longer? The Weed Out seems a little cheaper. I live in Central Pa and have Penn State mix grass.

    These products have slightly different formulations. Ferti-Lome Weed-Out with Trimec contains: 

    Mecoprop dimethylamine salt - 5.45%
    2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid - 5.88% 
    Dicamba - 1.21%

    Weed Free Zone contains:

    2,4-D, 2-ethylhexyl ester - 10.49% 
    Mecoprop-p, acid - 2.66% 
    Dicamba, acid - 0.67% 
    Carfentrazone-ethyl - 0.54%

    Weed Free Zone is a newer formulation made for faster results, but since it is more aggressive, it should not be used on improved varieties of St Augustine turfgrass.

    Will Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec kill wild violets ?
    Wild violets have been growing into our lawn and we want them gone fast !

    Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec is not labeled for wild violets and may not be effective for this weed. We do carry Fertilome Weed Free Zone and it is labeled for wild violet. We do recommend that you review the Weed Free Zone product label to be sure that your grass type is listed as a tolerant species.

    Is there anything I can use to kill dogfennel that won't kill the grass?

    You didn't specify what kind of grass you have so we will not be able to tell you directly if it is safe for your lawn or not. You could use the Fertilome Weed Out to control Dogfennel as well as a large variety of other broadleaf weeds. It can be used on Sensitive Grasses Such As
    Centipedegrass and St. Augustinegrass; Warm Season Grasses such as Bermudagrass, Bentgrass, and Buffalograss; and on Cool Season Grasses such as Bluegrass, Fescue, and Zoysiagrass. You will need to refer to the Product Label to see what the usage rate for your specific type of grass is. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    How can I apply the Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec in a hose end sprayer?

    According to the product label: "Hose-End Sprayer: Use 1 gallon of water for every 250 square feet to be sprayed. For concentrate sprayers, add only the required amount of ferti-lome WEED-OUT listed in the rate chart depending on type of Grass and number of square feet to be treated. Do not add water to concentrate sprayers For dilution sprayers, add the required amount of ferti-lome WEED-OUT and fill sprayer with water to proper level. Spray uniformly." Please read the product label to find the correct usage rate for your needs.

    Can Fertilome Weed Out with Trimec be used on active weeds in the summer when temps are over 85?

    Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec should be applied when temperatures are below 85 degrees.  If daytime temperatures are above this you should apply in the early morning before the highs.  Herbicides work best when weeds are healthy and actively growing while not heat or drought stressed.

    What method should you use for follow up application?
    It said that you can follow up with a re application 7 to 10 days after initial. Should this be a spot treatment approach or another full lawn application? Bermuda lawn

    A follow up treatment with Fertilome Weed Out can be used as a broad cast spray in a hose end sprayer to treat the whole lawn or as a spot spray in a hand pump sprayer to treat smaller areas that may need attention.

    It is not necessary to water the lawn prior to the application of Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec as long as the appropriate amount of solution was used on the treatment area. Typically, you will want to water lightly if there are drought conditions or the lawn was very arid.

    Setting for Chapin Hose End Sprayer when Using Fertilome?
    I have purchased the Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Killer with Trimec along with the Chapin Liquid Hose-End Sprayer. I have read the directions over and over again on how to apply the weed killer with a hose end sprayer but I need some assistance on what to set my settings to on my hose end sprayer. I have 2000 square feet to cover and I know I will use 4 ounces of the Fertilome but what will my setting be on the Chapin hose end sprayer? Thanks!!

    You should set the Chapin hose end sprayer sprayer on .5 oz per gallon mark and then plan on using 8 gallons of water to cover the 2,000 sq ft area per the product label instructions (you need to use 1 gallon of water per 250 sq ft)
