    Q
How much Fusilade II to kill grassy weeds in bluegrass lawn?
I am trying to kill quackgrass and barnyard grass in a bluegrass lawn with a little fall fescue. Do I use the 6oz per acre? That seemed to be what they recommend on the label for use on a tall fescue lawn.
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide should not be used on desirable turf as a broadcast spray. You can do a spot treatment in your lawn only. The mixing ratio is 0.75 fl. oz. per gallon of water. It is also recommended that you use a surfactact, such as the Non-Ionic Surfactant. The mixing ratio for that is 1/2 fl oz.

  • Asked by Mike from Michigan

    Q
Can I use Fusilade II Herbicide over ivy and myrtle ground covers?
I have a hill covered with a combination of myrtle, English ivy and some assorted hosta plants here and there. If I mix and spray after the weeds and grasses start growing, will this effectively kill the weed and grasses which come up ever year and leave my ground covers unaffected? I also treat with snapshot in the early spring I have purchased from you. I have also purchased many Insecticides from you over last few years.
    A

Fusilade II Herbicide can be used over these areas to control grassy weeds only.  It will not effect broadleaf weeds at all.  Please refer to the product label for complete instructions.

  • Asked by Thom from New Kent, Virginia
    03/08/2016
    Q
Can Fusilade be used in brambles to control weeds without damage to the canes?
    A

Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental herbicide is a selective post-emergent herbicide that controls a long list of perennial and annual grass weeds in turf and landscaped areas without damaging ornamentals. Since Brambles are considered a prickly shrub, Fusilade will not harm them. Fusilade II is fast and effective and it can be applied as a spot treatment or an over the top application without damaging ornamental plants. It can also be used to remove bermuda grass from tall fescue and zoysia grass when used at reduced rates. Fusilade II can stand up to rain after only 1 hour of application.

  • Asked by Ed from Camden, Arkansas

    Q
Is there a minimum temp requirement for application of Fusilade II Herbicide to be effective?
    A

Any time you are using a post-emergent herbicide, including ones like Fusilade, the weeds or grasses you are targeting must be in an actively growing state and soil temps need to be above 65 degrees consistently for you to see maximum results. You will also want to make sure you are using a surfactant with this product like the Southern Ag Non Ionic Surfactant.

  • Asked by Stuart from Palos Verdes, California
    12/22/2015
    Q
Would Fusilade II or Roudup QuickPRO be effective when treating Panic-Veldt?
    A

The studies done on Panic-Veldt using Fusillade have shown to be inconclusive, therefore it is not listed on the label. Using a glyphosate product (Roundup) applied as a foliar spray at 2 percent concentration with added surfactant was shown to be effective against Panic-VeldtUsing a product named Roundup QuickPRO will give you both treatments in one. QuickPRO has two active ingredients: 73.3% glyphosate and 2.9% diquat. The addition of diquat, along with the surfactant, gives you even faster burndown. It controls broadleaf and grass weeds, or woody brush and trees - roots and all.

Using a chemical method along with chemical treatment, will help with control unless you are able to to identify where this weeds originates. Regardless of the method used, more than one year of treatment will be necessary, due to its extensive seedbank, the persistence of which is unknown. You may also contact your local master gardener for recommendations that have worked in your area. Click here for the link.

  • Asked by Arnold from Morrow
    11/29/2015
    Q
Is the Fusilade II Herbicide safe to be used on dormant zoysia grass that was newly sodded in September?
    A

Depending on what you are trying to target the Fusilade II Herbicide is safe to be used on zoysia that is established whether it is actively growing or dormant. However, anything you may be trying to eliminate from the zoysia grass will likely not be affected by the Fusilade application if all of the plants are in a dormant state due to the time of year and ground temperatures. Fusilade is a post emergent herbicide and will only control grasses that are in a fully actively growing state. When you do apply the Fusilade, be sure to use a Non Ionic Surfactant for best results.

Per the Fusilade Product Label for use on Zoysiagrass:

Over-spray Zoysia: Application should be made at a rate of 3-4 fl oz/A with Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide, and a nonionic surfactant. Applications should be made in late spring (around June 1) and repeated about every 28-30 days. Latesummer application can be reduced to 2-3 fl oz/A as bermudagrass is preparing for dormancy. During hot summer weather the rates could be increased to 4-5 fl oz/A. Note: The 5 fl oz rate could cause temporary turf discoloration.

I'm trying to kill weeds in my flower beds and I don't know how to do so with this Fusilade 2?

We can certainly help with the application of Fusilade in your flower beds.  Be sure the weeds you are treating for are listed on the Fusilade product label. For spot treatments the mix ratio is as follows:

    Q
What is the mixing ratio on Fusilade II Herbicide?
I want to kill weeds in a liriopi bed. What mix ratio of Fusilade should I use ( i.e. how much fusilade to add per gallon of water)?
    A
You will use 0.4 - 0.6 per 1,000 sq. ft. of Fusillade II Herbicide in at least a gallon of water. It is important to use the correct amount of product versus the amount of water. A gallon will generally treat 1000 square feet. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • Asked by Jack from Mobile, Alabama
    06/28/2015
    Q
Is Fusilade II safe for chicory and clover?
I have planted a chicory and clover patch for deer season on april 26. On June 27 I notice lots of grassy weeds. Of which none I could identify. I mixed the fusillade at .7 oz per gallon and used dawn dishwashing liquid for my surfactant. About how long does it take for the fusillade to start killing weeds. And does it have a residual effect? Thanks
    A
Fusillade II is only safe to be used over pink clover. It is not safe to be used over chickory. Also, Fusillade II does not have a grazing label so animals should not eat any items that the product has been sprayed over.
