Gentrol IGR Concentrate is a high performing insect growth regulator that disrupts the lifecycle of pests including roaches, fruit flies, and stored product pests, like pantry moths and beetles.
Gentrol is an IGR, or Insect Growth Regulator. IGRs work by interrupting the reproductive cycle of any listed immature insects that come in contact with the IGR. The insects will not mature into breeding adults and therefore will not be able to repopulate, effectively controlling the infestation. IGR is like birth control for bugs.
It is important to note that Gentrol IGR Concentrate does not kill adult insects. Gentrol IGR Concentrate is often used by itself in pest maintenance programs but will need to be combined with an insecticide targeted at grown pests, also known as an adulticide, if there is an active infestation.
The adulticide will kill the pests it comes in contact with while the Gentrol IGR Concentrate moves deep into cracks and crevices to prevent eggs, larvae, and juvenile insects from maturing and reproducing, effectively controlling an infestation.
Read the label on the bottle of Gentrol IGR Concentrate, and of any adulticide that may be added, to determine how much product and water you will need. For example, use one ounce of Gentrol IGR Concentrate per gallon of water.
While wearing gloves and long-sleeves, fill a hand pump sprayer with half of the recommended amount of water. Add in your Gentrol IGR and adulticide, then add the rest of the water. Replace the top of the sprayer and shake vigorously to mix the water and product together.
Spray the mixture in rooms where insects have been spotted. Spray the corners of the rooms, where baseboards meet the floor, on walls, in basements, crawlspaces, and attics. If you have previously applied a bait, remember not to spray on top of existing bait placements.
Gentrol IGR has a very wide usage label, so be sure to read the label of any adulticide or insecticide that may be added to determine if there are any restrictions on where the product can be sprayed.
Gentrol IGR Concentrate can be fogged in large buildings like warehouses, schools, and office buildings. Consult the label for instructions on mixing rates and equipment needed for fogging.
Make sure to read the full product label carefully to safely and effectively apply Gentrol IGR Concentrate.
