Tempo dust would be a good choice to help control the cicada killers. Tempo dust offers a pretty fast knockdown though you should note that it does not offer an instant knockdown. You could also use EcoExempt Jet Wasp and Hornet spray. It will kill on contact. Stand a safe distance from the nest. Hold canister in an upright position and aim actuator opening toward nest. Treat nest until wet. Contact as many wasps/hornets as possible. Best time to treat is in the evening or early morning when they tend to be in or around the nest. Repeat as necessary.
