    Q
My fur baby is a licker and I’m concerned that he might lick off the Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine I bought today.
My baby has been dealing with mange, I did some research and bought this solution at a feed supply store. My concern is if my baby licks himself after being coated with the solution. I was thinking about using a cone to get him not to lick himself. He also has it around his eyes, mouth for the most part and I don’t know how I’ll apply it on him without being afraid of getting it in his eyes or mouth. It’s my first time ever treating him for this and I’m scared to coat him wrong, get the solution on myself too since it said it’s dangerous. I just want to help my little one feel better :(
    A

Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine is pet safe if used as directed on the product label, and does not require the use of a cone after treating your dog.

Although it is likely not harmful for your dog to lick the treated area once the application has completely dried, we suggest reaching out either to your veterinarian, or to the manufacturer directly for clarification and product support by calling  1-800-326-5225, or by visiting their website's contact page.

    Q
For indoor dogs, does Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine have to be left on for 7 days?
My indoor dogs sleep with us and i don't think having this residue of the meds on them for a full 7 days is going to work out well. I cant just lock them up for seven days. Can i leave the meds on for a few hours then wash it off? I know what the label say, which isnt alot to be honest.
    A

Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine needs to stay on the dogs for the full 7 days or you will not get the full effect from the product. If you wash it off, it will no longer be helpful for dogs. Apply once a day (morning time) this way by nightime, the medicine has had time to absorb fully into the skin. Slower reacting areas may need 2 applcications per day. Using gloves, you are working the treatment into the skin therefore there should not be excessive residue on the dogs coat/fur as the day progresses.

If the residue of the medicine is a concern, using a fresh clean towel/blanket each night can help protect the medicine from getting on any bedding, sheets, etc.

    Q
The Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine is not absorbing into my dogs skin in the heavily coated areas where the mange is. It's leaving her coat slimy and oily. She can't be left like this as it will get on everything and in her eyes. Your instructions are not good. Please advise as I've used the whole bottle in 2 applications.
    .
    A

If you are over applying the Happy Jack Sarcoptic Mange Medicine to infected areas, the medicine is not going to be able to absorb properly into the skin. It is better to start with a minimum amount of product on the infected areas and then build up as needed.  Make sure you are shaking the bottle before each use and wearing rubber gloves, work the medicine well into the skin with a slow, firm finger massage motion. If more is needed to thoroughly cover the infected area, add little amounts at a time and work into the skin until fully covered.

The product label states: For sarcoptic mange, apply once daily for several days. For slow responding areas or severely infected spots, apply twice daily until healed.

Also, the we as well as the manufacturer recommends contacting your Veternarian directly if the problem persists.
