I have eight trees, how do I apply to them and irrigate them?

I already have the product. It is a granule, how do I apply it to the ficus, if around the base of the tree, how much, how far around? Once it is applied, do I water it, if so, how much?

Answer:

Merit 0.5 G Insecticide Granules are to be applied as a broadcast application around landscape ornamentals (trees, plants, bushes, shrubs) at a rate of 1.4 to 1.8 lb per 1000 sq ft. This product is not applied as a soil drench insecticide would be applied to the root zone.
