I have German cockroaches that are living under my deep-freezer. What is the best way to get rid of them?

I noticed that I would see a roach once in while, but I just figured they would go away since I keep the area pretty clean. They were coming in the house from the nasty neighbors next door. I'm still seeing them once in a while. I really need to get rid of them. I have two very small children and I need help as soon as possible.

Answer:

One of the first things you should do is get someone to help you move the freezer and clean the area thoroughly. Dropped food or drinks can easily accumulate under or behind big appliances (or even on the bottom, sides or back of the appliance itself) and roaches can thrive on these forgotten items. After cleaning, you can apply a roach bait gel such as Advion Roach Bait Gel. The roaches will consume the gel and then transfer the gel to other roaches helping to eliminate the infestation. You should also use an IGR (or insect growth regulator) such as Gentrol. Gentrol will help interrupt the breeding cycle of the roaches while you are trying to get rid of the infestation. Last, you can use a good residual insecticide such as Demon WP around the perimeter of the room. Demon WP will help get rid of the roaches that are emerging from under the walls (a favorite hiding place for roaches is wall voids) and it will help stop the roaches from moving to other rooms. We have all three items available in the Roach Kit #2 for your convenience.
