Sylia from Port St Lucie, Florida writes

I have a small area that I want to treat with BoraCare with Mold Care but will not need the entire 6 gallons once mixed to do my treatment. How do I treat?

The trim on my house has mold and wet rot I have eliminated that trim and would be wasting a lot of BoraCare with Mold Care if I mix the whole gallon with 5 gallons of water. Is it also necessary to use Boracare first at a 1 to 1 ratio and then follow up with the Boracare with Mold Care. I'm confused on how to do the treatment.

Answer:

Depending on the thickness and length of your siding will determine what lower mixing ratio to mix the BoraCare with Mold Care. Please refer to page 8 of the label for mixing application rates for siding to help you. Also, the BoraCare with Mold Care can remain stable for up to 30 days after it is mixed. Unless you are treating for wood destroying insects such as termites or powderpost beetles, you will not need to use the BoraCare in addition to the BoraCare with Mold Care. We recommend for specific instructions on your application that you contact the manufacturer Nisus directly at (800) 264-0870 for better details.
