Sue from Tucson Az writes

I have a small grass area that I have seen small cockroaches in at night. I would like to use Permethrin to

get rid of the pest. I have small dogs that will be playing on the grass and at times will eat the grass. If I use Permethrin, will it be safe for the dogs and how do I apply it?

Answer:

According to the Permethrin SFR product label you will need to use about 1 2/3 fl oz per gallon of water for each 1,000 sq ft area. You will need to keep your dog out of the area during the application and the dog can return to the area after it has dried. There will only be very small diluted deposits of the insecticide on your lawn and the small amount that you pet may ingest should not have any effect.
