    Q
Does Hay - Now germinate the roots and help smother the weeds out?
    A

Hay - Now is a liquid fertilizer that is recommended as a supplement to your current fertilizer program as it provides NPK and key micronutrients for your crops’ best production.  It will not really smother weeds like you are describing.

    Q
Can animals eat in the pasture while Hay - Now Liquid Fertilizer applied?
I have goats and I do not have another pasture to put them in. I need to fertilize the pasture. Goats eat all day. Could I spray this at night when I put them up and et them out in the morning and be ok for them to start eating the pasture?
    A

Hay - Now  is safe to apply while animals are present. If the animals are grazing in the areas being treated, per the label, apply Hay-Now every 30 to 45 days. Suggested application rate is 1 to 2 quarts diluted in 10-20 gallons of water per acre. For best results though, we would recommend to let the area completely dry so the soil can take the nutrients in before letting your animals back to the treated areas to graze.

  • Asked by Jesse from Fort Worth, Tx

    Q
Can you mixHay - Now Liquid Fertilizer with DuPont Pastora?
Can you mix Now with DoPont Pastora Herbicide
    A

According to the product label of Pastora Herbicide, liquid nitrogen fertilizer solutions may be used as a carrier in place of water with Pastora Herbicide. Run a tank mix compatibility test before mixing Pastora Herbicide in fertilizer solution.

The product label of Hay - Now states, "When tank mixing any of the manufacturer’s products with other farm chemicals, always read and follow the label directions of the chemical(s) you are considering. The manufacturer suggests administering a jar test and/or a strip test before adding Hay-Now to your tank mix. When mixing with other farm chemicals, it is suggested to tank mix Hay-Now only after diluting the chemical according to label directions. Knowing the chemical’s “mode of action” (block photosynthesis) or metal content (copper based) will help determine the compatibility of Hay-Now. Once mixed or diluted, product should be used within 48 hours. Please call 800-978-6342 with any questions."

    Q
Can Hay - Now Liquid Fertilizer be used on fescue grass, like in a home lawn?
I have a large lawn (about 2.5 acres) and wondered if this would work on fescue grass? Nothing is going to be eating it, so that's not an issue, but wondered if this would be a good supplement to granular fetilizer on the lawn.
    A

Hay - Now Liquid Fertilizer is labeled for commercial use only on hay and pastures and we cannot comment nor recommend off label usage to home lawns.

  • Asked by Don from Thorndale Texas
    10/08/2021
    Q
Why is the rate of application for Hay - Now Liquid Fertilizer significantly less than others?
Triple 10 (10-10-10) and Hay Maker (18-3-4) products compute to 22 to 29 gallons needed for my 4 acres, but this (7-9-5) computes to only 2 gallons needed for same acreage. Seems like a very small amount. Using your light rate of 1 qt per 20 gal water per acre requires only 4 qts of fertilizer. Using your heavy rate of 2 qts per 10 gal water per acre requires 8 qts of fertilizer. I don't understand the significant differences between these products quantities for a 4 acre coverage.
    A

Each product requires the label rates for the specific product and application. Hay-Now is applied at 1 to 2 qts. per 10-20 gallons of water per acre. Please see the label for complete application instructions.
