  • Asked by Joe from Summerfield, Fl
    09/29/2011
    Q
How often does Hi Yield Bug Blaster have to be used to kill ants?
We have used various ant traps but they keep coming back. Will this prevent them from coming back?
    A
Hi-Yield Bug Blaster will last for several weeks after it has been applied. Hi-Yield Bug Blaster will not prevent ants from coming back but it will kill ants that travel over treated surfaces. If you want to use a product that is going to have the best long term effect you should consider using Termidor SC. Termidor is the # 1 choice for outdoor ant control around the outside of your home. Termidor is a non-repellent insecticide that also has a transfer effect. That means that ants cannot tell that the Termidor is there and will walk right over it and then pick the product up on their bodies and inadvertently carry it back to the colony. Then, through normal social interaction, the ants spread the Termidor and wipe out the colony. Termidor only needs to be applied two times per year and is effective for a wide variety of insects including ants, centipedes, roaches, spiders, silverfish, wasps and many other nuisance insects.

  • Asked by K.h. from Fort Worth
    07/01/2019
    Q
Will Bifenthrin 2.4% kill earthworms, lightning bugs, or lizards?
    A

Hi-Yield Bug Blaster Bifenthrin 2.4% is not really selective in the insects it will kill, so if lighting bugs contact a treated area long enough to receive a lethal dose they could be killed.  Earthworms are pretty protected by the mucus on their bodies so generally it would not harm them and it would not have any effect on lizards when used as directed.  You may notice a decline in numbers of lizaerds in the area though as you would be killing the insects that are their food source.
